1) why the FUCK are hinges et al so fucking expensive, this is ridiculous

3) I hate that I have to put the cabinet doors back up because my particular brand of neurospicy will immediately insist that nothing exists once it's behind a door

and I want to get things that not only go with EACH OTHER but that go with the ~aesthetic~ of the fuckin kitchen (is there a cohesive aesthetic? not really!!!!)

hmm is there like a thrift / architectural salvage place nearby you could check out?? of course the trick there would be finding enough that go together but you could also possibly get a bunch for dirt cheap if you get lucky

Restores usually have some aisles with bins of hardware. Idk if all of them do though.

But ours is mostly furniture and large salvage too even if they have a bit of hardware, so idk

yeah, the one nearest us has a BIT of furniture, but is mostly small appliances and kitchen stock and clothes/bedding/other fabric stuff

and I got a relatively inexpensive set of hinges (that I STILL have to do some jerryrigging with because our cabinet doors are DUMB). Honestly the door handles were more expensive than the hinges
