So I'm watching the second season of Golden Kamuy, and there's a really excellent sniper duel. The back and forth cat-and-mouse where the first one to break cover will get shot, so nobody is shooting. And it occurs to me: Thought: sniper duels, written well, are essentially Wesley vs Vizzini in The Princess Bride.
"Snipers are used to not being trusted, as I am not trusted by you, so I can clearly not shoot the blind in front of me. But you would have known that - you would have counted on it! - so I can clearly not shoot the blind in front of the yew."
