people can usually tell there's something up with me (it's autism) and that's what I'm afraid of
and none of us should be afraid of that
none of us should have to be afraid of that
I genuinely have no idea what to expect
they know I don't have any experience and they still called me in for an interview so that should be fine
my advice as someone who has had job interviews
if you can, exude confidence even if you aren't feeling it.
don't rush yourself into any answer, take your time to think about the answers to the questions they're asking you
have questions of your own prepared
(about any possible benefits, how many hours a week you can expect to be scheduled for, any unique challenges this particular workplace could provide, just anything you're curious about)
Often especially at first interviews they ask questions about your experience in school and home life. They'll ask things like how have you showed responsibility, empathy, etc. How would you handle big mistakes, how well do you get along with others, are you a quick learner, etc
Also, if they ask what your weaknesses are, don't say the "I work too hard" or "I care too much." Actually bring up something you may see yourself needing to be taught in the job.
thank you guys so much!! this really helps!
I can mostly prepare for it now!
Especially in a high paced environment such as food service, I'd recommend showing in your interview that you don't mind asking questions. Anything that they tell you that seems confusing in the interview, ask for more information. Assuming you're hired, keep that same policy. Always always always ask questions. As someone who's trained quite a few employees
It's really hard to train people who don't ask for help.
o7!! I'll keep that in mind!
But yes, humble confidence! Be able to admit your faults while highlighting your strengths
I do tend to be afraid to ask questions but it's reassuring to know people Want me asking questions
even if the answer might be obvious
I have faith in you

you got this
I've only actually interviewed for two jobs, and I've gotten every job I interviewed for, but I've been involved in quite a few other employees interviewing and training, so I think I have some experience on the subject, but if it sounds incredibly off base, feel free to ignore
it was very helpful,Ila 💛 thank you
Oops,I didn't see any of your responses ;-; stupid plurk
I'll update you guys afterwards (the interview starts tomorrow at 2:30)
Yes I promise they'd rather you ask potentially silly questions than make mistakes.
Also lee is totally right about the weakness question. I think I've usually said that I'm petty, or that I often get overly frustrated by minor mistakes. Those are the sorts of things they're looking for, I think
I'm going to mention that I tend to get stuck on small things (like that one time I got soap in my hair in a theater bathroom and struggled to get it out and was almost late to the show) and need to learn how to be faster
Yeah, that's the right sort of thing, I think!
