Here is all of his most recent album, which uses a very old harvest tradition in Kent (among many other things) as a framework to talk about his mother’s illness and death, and also recovery from addiction and dealing with depression (and a lot else). It’s part of a cycle he has planned that follow the seasons

I honestly think it’s his best work yet, which is pretty crazy given the ten year hiatus

The Night Safari
This one was the EP that immediately preceded it and it deals with severe insomnia and the depression/recovery I mentioned, -- there are SEVERAL songs that have been really soundtracking my last couple years and I know I’m just gonna bawl if he plays either The Night Safari or Enter The Day

Some random faves from earlier albums:Patrick Wolf - The Days
This was in the credits of God’s Own Country, which everyone should ALSO watch and love, gorgeous queer movie set in rural Yorkshire. It’s got tough moments but it’s SO beautiful and no one dies (...one lamb dies, I guess).

Patrick Wolf - Bermondsey Street
This is adorable and the he kisses her/he kisses him/she kisses her changes in the chorus are too. There is a picture of my partner and me on our honeymoon (which synced up with a tour after this album came out) kissing on Bermondsey Street like fankids XD

This was one of the first I saw (recommended by YT after an IAMX video...probably Spit It Out?) so, yknow, there’s also a bunch of electronic-er stuff (this gets a bit strobey)

PATRICK WOLF - "HARD TIMES"

This is also more dancy but earlier and it’s filmed on a POTATO and he’s an INFANT. the hair dye down the neck. The glitter. The holiday themed decorations which I think is literally the flat he was afaik squatting in.Patrick Wolf - Accident & Emergency

ok that wasn’t supposed to be reverse chronological and is in no way a good ‘these are what you Should Hear To Get A Grasp on Patrick Wold’ but they are all GOOD and delightful
