I reject the "nobody wants to work anymore" narrative because these jobs that either a) stay on the boards for MONTHS on end or b) pop up over and over with new postings, certainly are jobs that should be easily filled.
I'm not applying for advanced specialist work, here. It's entry-mid level.
So maybe they're fake postings and I'm wasting my time. 🤷🏻
It also doesn't help tho that a lot of my main skills are EASILY taken over by AI and other automation, not to mention how much of the work I did with the bank for 13+ years was sent overseas.
Yeah y'all care so much about the community that you give their jobs away to computers or ship them across the world. Sure, Jan.
Don't get me wrong, people in other countries deserve to work too.
I just hate the hypocrisy of these companies here who say one thing and do another. Fuckers.
Actually pretty pathetic that a secretary can't split a PDF. Like sure, it's not hard for us to do, but it's definitely something that should be within a legal secretary's skill-set. SAD lmao.
But at least the PDF splitting is legal documents, aka the actual thing that should be my job to do. Not all this fucking promotional bullshit, playing arts and crafts for HR, marketing, and recruiting.
I did not come work for a law firm to cut out fucking party invitations.
Oh yay we're back to the "keep your app open a minute and try again" ass bus driver. Every other bus driver I've had looks at pass and beeps us thru except this fool.
If after we close and reopen the app it still doesn't work, that's a reader issue. My pass is still valid for 19 days.
And I don't like that it's light in the morning, I want the sun when I'm leaving work, not when I'm going to work. 😭
Bruhhhhhh I hate this one secretary. She's such a mean person. I've hated her ever since I saw her treating cafe staff rudely.
And today she marches down into the department where I work and sets up on our work without saying a word to us, so I ask if she needs help. She's too dumb to use the copier, apparently.
So I help her pick the copier options, and THEN when she's nearly done copying and I have my bag on my shoulder to go to lunch, she asks what is the best way to scan the document.
YOU FUCKING DIPSHIT. We have done this the same way for at least the two fucking years I've been here.
Like... I work in the COPY CENTER. People come to us for COPIES, and this moron takes it upon herself to just try to do it all instead of asking us how we can handle it. And then has the nerve to get an attitude with me when I explain how we can help cuz it's not what she wants to hear.
Sorry I'm not bending over backwards for you when you weren't forthcoming with everything you needed help with when I asked in the first place.
Tired of these goddamn secretaries with cotton balls for brains.
Like why the fuck would we copy and then scan it when we can just scan it ONE time and print copies that way? Why are you stupid?
I usually ask people when they ask for copies if they have a digital version, but I don't do it as much lately because the secretaries have an attitude about it. Like I'm just asking to be helpful and efficient, chill the fuck out.
For the love of fuck, it's DES, not DEZ. We've had this conversation.
I can't wait until these old fucks retire. Keep firing people who can't use computer files correctly!
This shit has been around since the 90s, you stupid bitches!
I should not have to explain to a grown ass adult with years and years of office experience how to create a folder and drag a file inside. This is basic knowledge.
Again, I totally understand younger folks maybe lacking in this experience because maybe they used phones/tablets more than computer. But at least the younger folks are willing to learn, and usually glad to know how to do things more efficiently.
I love some "work smarter not harder" colleagues.
Once again, I hate marketing. And holy shit it's ridiculous to be babying the accounting people with fancy cardstock messages because they're moving office a block away. They already work for us! They're just moving!
I want to smash things, lmao.
Sure would be nice if this paralegal could've given us a heads up yesterday that she has a nearly 17,000 print job instead of just pushing it to the secretary to spring on us this morning.
But why would these snobs show any consideration for us as people? 🙃
