needlework + hyperfocus is a hell of a combo

Mom and I have actually found a rapport where if we want to talk and the other is doing something we speak to get attention and then wait until listening ears are engaged.

I just saw it as your kind of sentiment.

i yell "COUNTING!" and then brian stands there until i get to a decent stopping point

I am more of the slowly counting louder with each stitch if the other person isn't stopping.

That approach... But it helps that most of my family also do crafts that require careful counting...
