These were not a thing the last time I bothered to do cosplay and now..............................................................
Alexceptional

Assembly and a good coat of paint required. But I'll be back (in a few weeks once I find an aluminum rod to stabilize this thing)

aluminum or wood? I think aluminum would be lighter and I am small and I am tired and I will be also working all day so...................? Aluminum?
Alexceptional
Wood might be lighter, but then it might be weaker
Alexceptional
I need to just go to Home Depot and run around with a stack of rods for 10 minutes and see which tuckers me out first LMAO
Alexceptional

It's Home Depot, they won't question me

A SWARD

Alexceptional

Working the event, I should clarify lol
maruah

generally speaking dowel rods will work just fine for this but depending on what type of sword it is and thickness you can cut the middleman and look at pvc pipe
Alexceptional
I was also debating pvc! I was originally thinking to just melt pvc INTO a sword (old school tactics ha!) but then I remembered magic exists so I went that route
maruah
size of the sqord is important here because the weight issue might be negligible
Alexceptional
I am weak. But sword is not that big
maruah
Then metal is good just have to consider whether the guidelines for weapons in cosplay might frown on a metal core security reasons
Alexceptional

This one is chill

I AM THE SOLUTION AND THE PROBLEM
maruah

if the sword has a balance issue (like it is overly heavy because of ornamental bs ) it is possibly better to have metal core but if we are talking like short length. for instance Link's master sword or less. then lighter materials should be fine too
maruah

hahaha
