it's kinda hard when people tell you "you should see a therapist and talk to someone about things" and yet when you look up getting an actual proper diagnosis for ADHD in your area, the only place around that offers it starts explaining its treatment for ADHD with "our facility is licensed to operate 62 beds"

like...not really what i need actually i was thinking more i just talk to a guy and fill out the paperwork and get my dad to fill out the paperwork and we just figure it out the normal way??

i was more thinking "can i maybe try a sample of adderall for like a month and see if it helps"

as my boss said "What kind of ADHD are they diagnosing??"

don't even get me started on how much i will not be going to any place called "Mindful Blessings"

living here my whole life i've learned all the christian dog whistles and that name is absolutely one of them

can't tell you the bewildered look on my dad's face when i explained to him why i would NOT go to a spice shop called "Mustard Seed"

this is not me being a bit facetious either on the website when you click on the section for ADHD and open the "Available Treatments" the FIRST thing it says is "we have inpatient care"

i feel like people think i'm always exaggerating about how insanely backwards it is here but no, i absolutely am not

the only ADHD treatment locally is fucking inpatient

wtf. why would you need inpatient care for ADHD of all things?!

well i'm here, so the odds are equal that the hospital just thinks all mental disorders are mad screaming schizophrenia, OR it's secretly an evangelical set-up and they lock you up and try to exorcise the demons

yeah that's the same reaction sora and owl had the time i asked them "hey, do all of your car washes have bible verses on their signs too?"

that's just A Thing around here, every single car wash is owned by people who put bible quotes on it

one of them at least uses "Leave your dirt behind" which is like, at least coherent, but most of the time it's just stuff about people burning in hell
