I use Healthy Paws, but there are probably better ones now.
And my dog is kinda aging out of it. He's ten so it's getting ridiculously expensive unless we lower the benefits a lot.
Whatever you choose, make sure to go over what they cover with a fine toothed comb. Most won't cover pre-existing conditions, which can be as simple as "allergies".
i pay 30 a month for my cat Fey currently and she's in pretty good health
wishuponthenightskies: pet's best is actually what I was looking at and started to fill out, but was like... wait. I'll see what places others recommend first lol
basically for my cat - I pay extra (hence why it's 30 bucks) for wellness because otherwise it only does accident/illness which I wish I'd had a year ago when my cat Ben passed away and I had to foot an 800 dollar emergency vet bill out of pocket.
hakuboo: honestly it's a good idea to do your research! I only went with them because they were willing to cover my dog despite his age
Both my cats are 8 so I don't know where that places them exactly
but I was registering something and it prompted me and I was like well 20 isn't bad.
yeah i couldn't tell you. Fey is 2 so she's much younger
I see progressive (my car insurance) does pet things too, but its a bit more expensive
I will also add their customer service is amazing. They were so kind because Bugsy had passed on a holiday weekend so I got billed for his insurance during the holiday and when i called they refunded the charge immediately and sent me a really lovely card.
I would honestly research your options, see what each covers/doesn't cover - what add ons will cost you if they require you to pay extra for something to be covered.
I SHALL DO SO. Before the end of the week I want to pick something out so that if another emergency DOES it... it wont be as bank breaking
I got Lemonade then found out Mija had cancer which they said was a preexisting condition. Immediately dumped it after that. Pet insurance feels like a scam but I hope you have better luck!
slipout: man that's such BS. I'm sorry that happened to you.
slipout: that is crazy because unless your vet diagnosed it before you enrolled for insurance how is that preexisting?!
I have nationwide currently. not sure what I'll do if I lose my job...
man.... I hope you do not lose things ;;
I also use Lemonade for Topaz and all his seizure meds and exams, but that sucks about the cancer for Mija. I think we went with Lemonade because it's monthly not a set period contract, so I don't know if it's particularly good, it was just what we could afford to commit
That's good to know, though. At least I have some options and ideas
I do keep seeing things about Lemonade is ads on facebook recently
I also have Lemonade and it's been a life saver the two times my cat has needed to go to urgent care. He didn't have a preexisting condition though so they have to cover his heart condition now
Also not sure if it's the best, but it's what I can afford and it's saved me thousands
