as i was trying to avoid crushing anything with my socked feet, i ran into mama (there were no bugs anywhere near mama), who demanded i check to see if i could see the emoji she'd just used in the family chat

it worked just fine, of course, i'm not sure what was so unique about it that she needed the confirmation, aside from that it wasn't one of the defaults

as i was doing this i also passed by a bookshelf on which the only outward-facing book was one with a historical black-and-white photo of a fluffy black cat, titled "why they saved the ballroom cat from that one sinking ship"

which ship? shrug emoji

meanwhile there was a small child somewhere, learning piano basics with their mom, and the dad came in at one point (he looked a little like the guy from disney's atlantis but not stylized) and they had a discussion over which of these two pianos was better

the conceit here was that this was an impoverished family and they were splurging to get their child a small piano...in the end they decided to stick with the first, slightly more expensive one

i don't remember if i was the child in this part of my dream but either i went outside or was already outside, and turned on a game that turned out to be one of those immersive virtual reality mmos like in the animes

but the first thing i saw upon logging in was these twin catboys with opposite hair colors (black and blonde probably) staring directly into the screen, one on top of the other instead of next to each other because they were going all out on the animeness of this scene

apparently this had happened the past few times i logged in too, so i was finally like guys why....and they revealed that they just wanted to be friends and excitedly invited me to join them on an adventure

i don't remember anything else about this part of the dream but there was another part where i was with my dad at some sort of tourist attraction and wandered into what appeared to be a large board room? meeting room? we may have interrupted something? my dad had things to say, most of them biting or sarcastic or sarcastically biting

there was also a part where i was desperately trying to find an event schedule, then found the listing for some kind of event with disney's aladdin (the 3rd through the 9th of whatever month), then contacted work to say i wouldn't be available that week because apparently my xiaoyi was taking me to china for it
