i can move the cursor around, but tapping on the touchpad does no click.
It is running Windows 10, for what that is worth, and i highly suspect that this is 11's fault
trying to go into touchpad settings.... shows only 'touchpad sensitivity' and nothing else. trying to go into device manager shows the touchpad does not exist at all as an option, APPARENTLY
yes, even if i try to reveal hidden devices or such
i mean. how much cat hair do you have in there
asdlfa it has nothing to do with cat hair. Probably. But it was working fine a few hours ago... until i went to adjust the volume on a youtube video
whereupon it would not click 'off' the volume control on the youtube video, and when i finally did get it off... that's when the cursor stopped being anything more than for how
i just know that when i have issues like this with my mouse, it's usually because i have something blocking the clicker part of the thing
either because i ran it into something on my desk and it's physically blocked from doing the click or a few years ago i literally had a shitton of cat hair in it
it's possible something shifted enough to block the sensor from letting you click just by using it
i honestly have no other answers, i hope someone can help
i don't think that's how the issue with the touchpad works. it's... a pretty flat surface
i mean internally. but idk how that all works, so. hopefully someone else has a better idea
I've had a hair trapped under the seam of the touch pad, but that was an old laptop. idk do touchpads just exist on the surface of the laptop now without being a separate piece of plastic?
Do you have it working with a mouse, so you can verify it's your touchpad and not ...like unable to click, period?
I had the whole extended desktop stop letting me click on my primary screen's desktop at least a handful of times this last week, and I rebooted windows explorer (or whatever the UI is called now) and finally just rebooted the computer. idk what was up with that
yeah, the mouse is working just fine - it's how i was able to make this plurk
listen, some people work wonders with just a keyboard, I didn't know for sure!
or with a phone. small screen is often open while big screen is, as if those internets are different
Try the usual: Reboot, see if that works. Scan For Hardware Changes in Device Manager. If not, update the driver (but make sure there is a place you can download the old version of the driver just in case you need to roll back)
.....ok so now out of nowhere, the tap is working. but. not the scrolling.
