It definitely makes it feel less like an arbitrary decision and more fitting for both the overall vibe and also these two specifically

not that I thought it was arbitrary anyway, given Pentious himself was an accidental character that they'd only planned on using once before they realized how popular he was and changed course, but you know what I mean.

Also, as far as season 2 specifics go, really appreciate that part of Pentious' angelic glow-up is that his hat now seems MUCH less angry and in fact got its eyelashes done

(also: that even though it's been remarked on in-universe as odd, we're still getting absolutely no explanation for why his hat is both an actual hat he can remove if he wants but also apparently alive and with its own eye)

(it's nice to just have weird things that make no sense be left unexplained)

(so long as they aren't like, plot-relevant or something, anyway)
