hearing that people were fighting over them and mistreating the employees ofc
like its cute!!!! but it so sucks for the people who wanted it not to resell and of course the employees that had to deal with the shitty customers...
can't you just...go to starbucks and buy one?
(i'm not a coffee person, so the ways of starbucks are mysterious to me)
here you can buy their cups from their online stores
i read this as "beer cup" and thought starbucks was really branching out
kadath: you would think but apparently stores only stocked a few so a lot of people who were trying to buy didn’t get it
halcyoning: some cups are online and like the Disney ones you can get on the parks but it seems like most are in store only...
time to get an empty honey bottle, write "starbucks" on the side, and rock your...whatever you drink out of that
The reseller drama is crazyyyyy
I wanted one but ppl were lining up at like 3 a.m. and there were only like 2 or 1 per store?
yeah, only 2 according to the video
good lord that's such a stupid move on corporate's part
its like they wanted their employees to get harassed
I don't have the energy to line up for anything at 3 a.m. anymore
and that's awful the employees got mistreated
the hello kitty merch is also adorable omg
nothing is worth getting up that early
the hello kitty stuff is cute tbh i'd rather have got that
and you know a lot of these people are just buying to resell
the tumblers and the plushie are being ignored from the looks of it?
since people are going crazy over the bear cup
like its cute but uh its crazy
I found one lone Hello Kitty plushie in a Starbucks today
the bear is the main focus it seems like
this is not normal behavior and look I own labubus so I can't judge the "peak consumerism" of it all (but I like to think I behaved rationally and didn't go overboard with them) but .... yeah.
ALSO people complaining that employees got them.... GOOD
they have to deal with your entitled ass nah they deserve it
as a labubu owner I can't say much but it would've been helpful if Starbucks had more than like... 2
fighting, yelling at them and acting entitled as shit - good let them have it
also if resellers weren't involved in everything
yeah they really screwed this its like corporate wanted this thing to go badly
anyways i'm gonna go to Starbucks and see if there's any hello kitty stuff left over
if there is any, fine - if not, not the end of the world
starbucks saying that the drop exceeded expectations and they sold more of these than any other item so far - i'm calling bullshit
they knew how much people wanted these things and they made the conscious choice to stock 1-2 per store, artificial scarcity at its FINEST
companies do the surprised pikachu face all the time when they sell out of a hot item
like c'mon they know it's gonna sell out fast
it is sucky that only 1 - 2 of the cups are being sold (which is a dick move on corporate's part) but yeah, the employees can get first dibs
they definitely deserve it
like put aside a certain amount for the employees to get and stock enough so you don't have angry ass people trying to kill one another for it
like something like this is not hard to mass produce
I have a feeling they didn't even consider their employees wanting the cup...
LMAO yeah honestly I don't think they did
but they probably also don't care and now left their own employees to be harassed by the public
a big company leaving their employees to deal with the fallout of their bad choices? gasp that never happens
same with popmart stores tbh
I hate how common that is in this day and age
oh yeah people were wild at popmart
I saw a drop at target for ofc it was hello kitty, poor hello kitty always at the scene of the crime
oh, they've had the bears selling in SB Japan for years now
this is just a skeezy marketing bs
all I can think of is the costco video of people mobbing pokemon cards and like, it's so stupid these days
according to the video you can buy the cups on Amazon without the SB branding
ah yes Pokemon also always at the scene of the crime
the video even showed that you can't even fit the bear in a cup holder
I feel like that bear is an inside cup rather than an outside one...
it's giving those make up brands in the 2010's that would have like... a hundred of the item just so they could go "we sold out!!!"
'omg, we didn't expect thiiiisss, you guys, tee hee'
