Can someone explain the “six seven” thing? I walked by a mall kiosk yesterday one of those custom tshirt ones, one had Rumi doing something with her hands and on the bottom it said “six seven”. The girl walking near me laughed and pulled out her phone to take a photo. I almost asked her but she walked in the opposite direction.
but it doesn't mean anything
I am still trying to remember if we had any "brainrot" phrases back in the day that I can compare it to
*a rap song and a basketball player also made this into a weird ass meme
yeah it seems to just be like a weird vocal stim
i guess the closest thing I can compare this to is what planking was to Millennials... but that's not quite it either....
kind of like how skibbidi also has no meaning
The art of memeing is lost on this new generation...
i'm most annoyed that it's word of the year
like vocal stim if you wanna, i'm not your boss, but a word of the year should have a meaning
otherwise just call it a sound of the year
the only thing I can compare how slang is these days is the entirety of the Jabberwocky poem by Lewis Caroll
but ehhh that's no 1:1 either
but close. that entire poem is nonsense XD
salad fingers, Charlie bit my finger, Charlie the unicorn, anything invader zim said, as if, cool, ect ect.
But I agree word of the year shouldn’t be a nonsense meme or brain rot
I heard the rapper was referencing demons....I also heard it references the periodic element 67 because it's abbreviated Ho
But I'm also extremely out of the loop so lmao
I've heard the song. The lyrics are just. Not there.
the song is the origin, but the real origin is some kid on Tiktok said it in a really dumb way during a tiktok he posted at a basketball game and now every kid in America has to yell out "six seven!" in that same voice because of reasons.
it honestly seems to be something that you're only exposed to if you've got elementary school aged kids tbh
Not necessarily. My coworkers like to torture me with it.
SkylaDoragono: oh nooo that's terrible; around here it is definitely kid-only
Anyways thanks for the answers. Remember when memes used to be fun or funny and not just random words.... I miss that.
I remember Damn Daniel and WHAT ARE THOSE?
lmao I was just explaining to my husband that six seven is the new WHAT ARE THOSE?
omg damn Daniel... my brother used to go around quoting that aaaaall the time haha
speaksincolor: I just realized now those two are our generation's 6 7 XD
the difference though is... idk, maybe I'm biased, those two are actually funny |D
