perrin is a delight. i would be intimidated to show off my version of a malleable protagonist but i feel like he fits into the shoes of courier six very well. i'm very intrigued by his backstory

his 'sociopathy' and adaption to the wasteland to the point that idyllic BCB sometimes feels odd or even dull are both really fun to play with

I love that Perrin feels like he's morally out of step, with a different point of view than everyone else.

he is so fascinating and i'm so glad others see it! i still use canon as a backdrop and keep him feeling like he's from the writing school that brought us nv, i hope, but like! this traumatised guy who will likely never adapt to BCB.

like. fun fact. the first few weeks he was in BCB he felt a bit sick when he ate, because the food tasted wrong to him, because he's used to the wasteland.

and also his understandable concerns that if time is still flowing back home (which he believes in hardcore) that he's just repeated the mistake he kept making, the fact he runs away...

im gonna need to ask the mods what happens if somebody. tries to fly away. because he's getting that urge, even though he won't admit it. because that's who he was! he even promised to stay in new vegas, but he failed, and that must be his destiny!

raising that urge to poke more and find out about them!

also tbh i think that it's fun to have a malleable protag who also has things going on which aren't the canon things, if they give you a whole background to mess with.

It's so difficult to get mental illness like his quite right because you either get a character who's too sensationalised in one extreme or the other or someone who isn't fun to interact with but given how much stuff we've done with him outside of BCB the fact that he's like. A massively paranoid dickhead is just one facet rather than the whole thing.

I won't spoil much more as I bear the curse of knowing but

nana is so important to him and even if he's slightly different because can't be like 'oh chosen one is his nana' it's like! no! that's the one who helped shape his morals!

+1 to being able to play a malleable protag! that's definitely not easy to do and i know i'm canonblind but i love that perrin is clearly shaped by his world while at the same time not just a blank slate? he's still his own person dealing with his history and trauma beyond that
