There was some differences and changes but I am actually happy with all of them??? I honestly think that it narratively fits that they all sorta came together at the Carnival

it was also nice to see the foreshadowing of their backstories

also I feel like they gave Essek a reason to betray everything, like yes he is revealed right off the bat to be working for Trent BUT it has something to do with his mother and his family, and also his deeply ingrained religious issues

And I cannot wait to see how this affects my characterization of him

Everything has so much more depth dear god I love it
