sims fans are so Stupid. so. main piracy tool is no longer working (developer got sick of people). somebody picked up the slack....... but put newest expansions behind a paywall. on a patreon. which uses their full legal info for payment.

from every community ive been at the edges of, i think sims 4 players are the most... illterate when it comes to the interaction between mods and the game.

they regularly just. cannot fathom how modding is going to cause problems with game updates
so like. it catches a lot more casual gamers who are just. uh. unfamiliar, lets say, with it all

the worst part is that like... overall? modding the sims is so easy
there is a mods folder right there
for the most part, you just drop. it. in.
the ease of modding unfortunately makes it worse somehow, because sure people can easily add mods and stuff
but they don't realize they have to update them manually
so when the game updates and the mods don't work they go screaming at EA
and refuse to admit it's their mods
You know not to hand it to EA but I appreciate that they have a policy against paid mods because in a world where other companies want to make that the norm not having paid mods is a win
Although to be fair the Creator Packs for TS4 aren't that different from Bethesda Creation Club stuff but simultaneously one of these is a glorified dressup game and the others are games you put Thomas the Tank Engine in for the lols
i'm not about to say it was entirely the fans, but i'm sure he's glad to be rid of them all the same
