But a friend's updates show up on your timeline, and vice versa. You can consider it like mutual fanning.

If you friend a LOT of people quickly, your timeline will clutter, and you won't be able to keep up. Go slowly and get up to speed.

thanks for words of caution...I oversubscribed in bloglines when I first started with it and couldn't keep up
