totally what goes on in my head!
Sounds just like general thoughts everyone has when it comes to those things o_o; there's no commentary on actual fashion, though.
*shrug* fashionable women don't dress the way they do for male attention
if they did they'd just wear low-cut shirts and skintight pants all the time.
the susan boyle thing...it does sound pretty jealous...but in some ways i can see what she means by it
like...having raw talent is not the same as having familiarized yourself with the subject and industry for years and years
is she talented? yes, but does that mean she'll pursue this as a career for years to come just because she made it on an idol show?
Christina Aguilera said the same thing when it came to American Idol. (also why none of the songs she's written she's allowed to be perf'd)
When you spend all your life working hard to get where you are and suddenly someone comes along and she does nothing but audition for tv
and then gets handed the exact same job you've been working on? Completely unfair.
This is also another reason why I don't completely hate britney spears. Everyone says she's manufactured (As an artist? Sure) But she's been
In the industry since she was 8 years old.
yeah..:I part of the appeal of those shows is how regular people get into the industry based on their talent and not just on connections,
and i love the fact that people like boyle were adored for their voices, whereas record labels seem to put sex appeal before talent on their
priority lists...but just because you can sing a great cover of an existing song doesn't necessarily mean you have what it takes to be a
lasting figure in the music world either...like paige said, it's an immediate celebrity thing, not necessarily someone well versed in art
although i don't think most american idol watchers are really huge music fans to begin with, i guess...
prowd to be a t-shirt, baseball cap kinda guy!
but the occasional head to toe in Armani is what i like best!
first topic: i am one of those guys who will never get fashion....how can an industry that exist just to make sure everything that's existed
in the same industry no longer exists...
on American Idol: that show is total bullshit.....it's people doing bad covers of songs i don't like to begin with.
*should've added another exist to that other comment.
anyways, i guess my point is: if you're really fashionable, you shouldn't be wearing what other people say is fashionable.
and fuck american idol. been sayin' that my whole life, be sayin' it til the day I die.
"it's a billion dollar a year industry to make beautiful people feel ugly without their goods"
lol, i think there's some good that comes out of the idol show- basically what rose was alluding to: people in the music industry nowadays
well, let's take a look at what Idol has brought us....
Paula Abdul back in public view.
aren't held up to the same standards of skill/talent that they once were.
you damned near have to be beautiful or marketable to get attention. that's not music, that's something else.
i think what bugged me the most about the article is that boyle was a mega huge fan of that woman who made those comments. it's like finally
meeting this person you've held to such a high standard and getting completely shunned because the momentum of your sudden fame brought you
if not exponentially. i have no idea who that other woman even is or was.
