"Church members accused of trying to take children out of country "
wtf man.. i read most of it and.. dang. the kids being like "I'm not an orphan!"
the fact that the people doing this weren't even trained, just doing what they thought was right is kinda BS
LET'S GO TO HAITI AND STEAL US SOME CHILLINS
i was listening to the story on npr and one guy went for the "god told me to do this" defense. like...no, dude. if these kids have parents
then you're straight up kidnapping.
i dont know where the intent was but i hope they were just being idiots with good will.
thing is - if they really want to help these kids, establish a larger home base for them in HAITI. build a tent town. help transport
supplies. anything would have come to mind first than "get these children out" . it's not a war zone where violence constantly threatens
them. it's a disaster area. the threat now is the same they'd face in the d.r. -they still need food, water, shelter, and maybe heat
and possibly even medical attention.
i love how it says "live parents"
the sentence 'have parents' enough clear enough.. they have to have LIVE ones for us to know their parents aren't dead. Like "had parents"
wouldn't of been clear enough, if they didn't
i think it's an important clarification. little kids could be saying they have parents, they have parents - thinking orphans are kids who
but no, their parents are supposedly alive.
Supposedly because...frig, these kids -where did they find them? They couldn't have been with their parents. So WHERE are they?
They really could be gone... so...yeah. I think there's a lot of weird speculation on each side.
