If you could take your students to NASA to watch the shuttle launch, what would you try to do with them? How would you share it?

too many options. The key would how to focus your efforts on one or two media to share.

Would be good I think to do a print piece and multimedia piece both could be distributed via web and then through local TV + print options.

while there? Tour the space center, then go toCocoa Beach to see if we could find any launch stuff on the beach.

i watched the challenger launch and explode so I would have a back up plan to discuss what happens when there is a problem

Learn about training to be astro. or mission control member, what type of education is needed, wanted.

the traffic wait afterwards is huge. I would stay put and do a writing or recording of thougths and feelings after seeing it.

could provide an awesome science/math integration (physics/geometry of the launch) - could create digital videos, podcasts, etc.

Film it! Then, they can add captions, commentary, factoids, etc as they learn them throughout the rest of the trip.
