too many options. The key would how to focus your efforts on one or two media to share.
Would be good I think to do a print piece and multimedia piece both could be distributed via web and then through local TV + print options.
while there? Tour the space center, then go toCocoa Beach to see if we could find any launch stuff on the beach.
Interesting ideas. Keep 'em coming. What would you want to do with your students while there?
i watched the challenger launch and explode so I would have a back up plan to discuss what happens when there is a problem
Learn about training to be astro. or mission control member, what type of education is needed, wanted.
Tour training facillities, interview people connected with mission.
the traffic wait afterwards is huge. I would stay put and do a writing or recording of thougths and feelings after seeing it.
investigate the mission and do prior research about the goals of the mission
teach42: are you coming to Central FL with kids?
Photography themed field trip!
I'd pick a core area to focus on: ELA, science, math then structure activities around it.
dmcordell...why not an interdisciplinary approach?
could provide an awesome science/math integration (physics/geometry of the launch) - could create digital videos, podcasts, etc.
Film it! Then, they can add captions, commentary, factoids, etc as they learn them throughout the rest of the trip.
I love the idea of kids creating a digital video of the experience.
and putting them on it after a bad day is not an option right? sorry I teach undergrads ...(totally kidding here)
Interdisciplinary would be cool, but so many activities would fracture my focus!
talk about how shuttle environment is different in space than on earth
