I don't know the teacher or the parent well, so the whole situation is uncomfortable. Not sure where my responsibility lies.

What would change, if you talked to the teacher? Would it change the behavior?

IMHO, as a former admin, you talk with your admin and provide insight. Let them handle the issue since you may not be directly responsible

depending on how well you know teacher or how close you are, maybe say something to them
