"Experts say the effort will likely fail because the U.S. Constitution states that federal law supersedes state laws,
but it will keep the issue alive until the November elections. "
"The government "has declared war on our way of life," activist Eric Odom from Nevada said Monday. "
well they DID have to resort to a deem and pass to get it through, knowing full well the general population DOES NOT WANT IT
technically that's still legal, but it's fucked up.
Oh? Are we also being evil socialist pinko fascist commies?
most people? based on what source?
"A bill that most people in America do not even understand!"
"They will understand it in due time, when they lose their rights to choose doctors, choose the best health policy for their families,
their taxes go up on everything, etc."
obv they never had an hmo.
or know anything about the bill.
you can still keep your plan, and your services.
there is no free progress. you can't fix anything without raising taxes. everyone expects miracles without giving up anything.
they didn't just fire the entire insurance industry.
when did i say anything about communism?
it was addressed to the comments im posting
"The public health insurance
option is provided startup administrative funding,
but it is required to amortize these costs into future
premiums to ensure it operates on a level playing field with private insurers."
- the gov IS helping start it of course, but they'll be collecting premiums and forced to run off its own income after a set time
in terms of stats - that first link is pretty much even.
you cant say "most" with a sample size of less than 1%
like...holy crap, only 1000 people.
the US as a whole: 39 to 44 percent
you and your family: 28 to 37 percent
sample size is .0003% of the usa.
im not buying those stats.
anywho - read the summary i posted THEN make an opinion
good luck polling more than a small amount of the population on any current issue...
even exit polls are just a few people out of the masses...as long as you're selecting randomly then the results shouldn't be too terribly
they've covered their bases in this bill. after reading up on this i'm even MORE confident this is a good thing and not this hellstorm
the conservative media is making it out to be
gallup polls are pretty well respected and used by news sources as an accurate measure of public opinion
There's always bickering about everything. it makes me sick that politicians, elected individuals, educated men and women, supposed leaders
if we went by public opinion alone we'd still have slaves and segrated schools.
have resorted to name calling and all this nonsense...
i'm just saying, the public generally does not want it, and gallup is a mostly credible source.
and? to hell with the 47% then if that's accurate.
i'd put my paycheck on the odds that 95% of that 47% haven't read anything on the bill other than outside media outlets.
biased samples are a huuuuuuuve problem in doing any kind of poll and research
biased results can also occur based on the wording of the questions and how results are tabulated
I'd be willing to bet that of those 47% or whatever it was that oppose, they are grossly uninfomed and have no real basis for their opinion
sorry I meant to say the majority of them are probably mis- or uninformed, I left out some words haha
which makes it a very subjective tool
"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."
plus biased media outlets will publish statistics and poll results that support their point of view. sweethearting I think it's called
anyway back to the point here, as a citizen you are guranteed to life, liberty, and security of the person. pretty sure universal health
care SUPPORTS those ideals, not contradicts them.
how can access to health care for the poor and uninsured AND the wealthy and connected be unconstitutional? I get that federal law
supercedes state law when deemed necessary.... but it's always been that way. so if it was a big problem why no raucus until now?
because politicians nowadays behave worse than children...
that's why i have the dodo tattooed in my alice sleeve.
government is just a caucus race that goes nowhere, and the winners take their prizes from the public
so...why arent you running for office?
unrelated... Alice sleeve?

oooooh
