I have two foreign born students whose English needs to improve. Vocabulary good; sentence structure crap. Any ideas, anyone?

you can't really put an assignment together with a collection of phrases though.

that's true. But with phrases you learn grammar and vocabulary in right context, and have complete phrases to use in practice.

I suggested the student might not be prepared for a level-3 university course. T175 a good idea along with some of the toolkits.

I think
teromakotero
's idea of complete phrases might work for these two. They can both express themselves lucidly, I think. Some parts

of their assignments are fine, and they set up their arguments and assemble their evidence OK. It's just that with both of them, sometimes

a sentence starts off wrong, or takes a wrong turn, and they completely lose the grammar. So thanks
