Actually, when I worked at Lowe's my best friend there and fellow cashier was lesbian and she got so many dates with customers

It was hilarious since it was so stero-typish

shouting "No thank you SIR" to HD employees who shout at me.

Home Depot has more brand recognition now; in other news Home Depot's gay group sponsored the lgbt film fest last year

They've taken their merchandise model to ridiculous extremes. I no longer find much worth buying there.

not in a house anymore and is renting so i find no reason to go to a hardware store anymore

There's other things you can buy there, but I prefer to patronize the local independents for drapes, garden supplies etc.

no desire to shop typically -- gives me hives

I like to shop even if I don't buy anything. I don't like having the same humdrum products in 20 different stores.

this is a problem with the consumer society though

It's more walmart-ization. There are things I like about wal-mart, but stores like that and HD leave us with little product selection.

And I have to qualify "like to shop." That's only when the weather is horrid and I feel trapped indoors.
