How many are leveraging the friends piece of Google Reader? Have to admit, I'm way underutilizing that.
Students are using Google Reader to share items with their teachers, along with notes about why posts are pertinent.
you access to their thinking.
You can take your shared items, tag it and make it public. I gotta try this. I've never taken the time to do it. I think I tried
but it wasn't intuitive to me.
Anybody have an example of a shared Google Reader page that they can link to?
Ways teachers are using Google Reader: Shared Reading, resource sharing, collaborative research, classroom reading list, note it & send it
Suggesting that blogging is about making the learning student centric. Letting them be the star of their own learning. Providing insight
into the learning process, in a professional, educational way.

At his school, students have their own learning space. Teachers cannot assign a new blog for their class. Students have ONE blog for school
Use tags to seperate things out. Students consider the blog to be their locker (Kudos to
zemote for using that term in Edmodo).
Students need to learn to talk to each other before they start talking to a global audience. Can't remember who keeps pointing out that
everybody wants to collaborate with people on the other side of the world. What about collaborating with the other side of the county?
Google Reader Trends. What you're reading? What are the themes? What are you sharing?
Teachers are asking students to turn in their 'trends'. Now the teachers know exactly what students are focusing on, spending their time.
While students do know the technology, they don't have the skills to be successful in the real world. GREAT POINT.
Being a Digital Native simply is not enough.
Here is my
shared page. Yes, shared posts are handpicked. Then, I can see my friends' handpicked posts in

He's talking about iGoogle, I'm installing Cool Iris
Iris is the new piclens. Great point...students know tech, but they still don't know how to use it appropriately.
Students are using it to help keep organized. He sez, "Play with it." Have fun with it. Leverage all your tools in one spot.
I didn't use this before, but now I will.
Thanks; great discoveries generated from this plurk!
