Our baseball opener was Friday...in the new Stadium no one wanted but the rich folks
about to say the same thing.
and the one the City used to try to shut down the homeless shelter so it wouldn't be inconvenient
to the consciences of the people filing in to pay for overpriced food and entertainment
Oh, and it doesn't have a roof. An open-air stadium in MN is stupid.
I'm glad it rained on the Opener.
Baseball can have the rest of them, but these days belong to GOD an no one else!
some things are just meant to be.
have to say, I *know* that my Redeemer Liveth, so it doesn't bother me to hear someone yell, "batter up"!! Even on a holy day.
Flyfisher: If you're hearing "batter up" at a time when worship is owed to God
because He died in that same hour for you...then you need an adjustment to your conscience
Flyfisher: If you're not Catholic then do what you want, but WE know who our God is and we act according to
our gratefulness for His Sacrifice for our Redemption. Even if it means giving up baseball out of love for Him
Oh my! I'm Presbyterian. And an Ordained Elder. I am allowed to preach from the pulpit. Are you?
Some of my most spiritual revelations have happened when I've been lost in the calm peacefulness of fishing.
I am not comfortable at all in my faith. The day I become *comfortable* is the day I stop seeking spiritual knowledge.
I also grew up in a Catholic Parish which embraced my family and me. I attended Mass back when heads were covered and Mass was chanted in
Latin. So please spare me the lecture about my *nonbelief* Because as self-rightous as you would like to sound, you will not
convince me I am wrong in my thinking and my beliefs.
But I *do* still respect you for your beliefs. Thanks for sharing.
Flyfisher: take it however you want and try hard not to choke on your own self-righteousness, my friend
Flyfisher: I wrote my comments for Catholics. Sorry I infringed on your beliefs. I sincerely apologize.
Flyfisher: btw I've probably fallen farther than you EVER will so no, I don't try to be "self-righteous"
But I AM opinionated, I write and speak with passion and it is my gift to piss off nearly everyone I meet, especially randomly
Nice to make your acquaintance. Happy Easter!
Doesn't bother me in the least. No apologies necessary. Sorry I misspelled "self-righteous"...
Nice to make your acquaintance , also! He has risen!
He has Risen INDEED!
Flyfisher: So...when are you going to come back Home to the Catholic Church? We miss you!
We aren't the same without you, and no, this isn't a pitch. I mean it from the heart of my soul.
Or is it soul of my heart?
my sister crossed over to marry her sweet heart. Does that count?
Oh, prolly should mention that I dated a lovely Jewish man for a number of years...(How am I doing so far?)
My first husband was a Pentacostal. (wait... it gets better)
But when I met him he was a a Moonie...
He escaped *that* cult...

Moonies....glad to hear he got out of that...
My hubs of 10 yrs now was schooled in the finest Catholic academies of Brownsville,Tx but was actually a Presbyterian as his father.
Oh, BTW, my former Jewish boyfriend served as fill-in alter boy in the Catholic parish in Grand Rapids, MI when there was shortages,..
really some funny stories...
I've lived a very ecumenical life, as has my friends...
crushed by all the "Catholics" who are no longer "Catholic" in spite of the ontological mark on their souls
My Dad was Lutheran, I went many times to church with him
esp. as I was a Daddy's girl
Well, Lutherans are nice people! Years ago, my older daughter went to the Lutheran Church daycare. The Lutheran church ladies made a
delicious hot lunch everyday for the kids.
Oh, yes, Lutherans and Catholics have that in common...potlucks!
It seems to be an ingrained feature, at least here in the Midwest! LOL!
It is a trait that has slopped over to the Presbyterians, also!! Our potlucks are renowned!
I just steal recipes from other people and pretend they're my own. True story!
The Lutheran church ladies published a wonderful cookbook of recipes cooked for the daycare center. My daughter circled her faves!
I think stealing recipes is okay! Not really a sin...
We did a Lenten cookbook at work, it was a huge hit, so we're doing another one for
Ordinary time. I can't remember the title...need to get a recipe in, though!
