and his booze analogy is bogus. it'd be more accurate if they were teaching the kama sutra to kids, not talking about how to NOT FUCK UP.
fuck I hate the American trend of abstinance sex ed. Or the lack of any kind of sex ed at all.
teaching teens how to use/encouraging the use of contraceptives = safer sex, fewer sti's, fewer teen pregnancies... it's not like informing
them of thei choices means hey let's strip down, in class, and practice putting condoms on the boys and force feeding the girls pills.
I went to Catholic school (though I try to forget) and in grade 9 religion they try to scare the crap out of you by teaching you all about
aids and other nasty sti's. then they show you videos about teenage girls and boys who totally regret having sex before marriage ahahahha
I remember one girl saying 'I went camping with some friends...we got really smashed and Johnny and I had sex. JESUS CRIED.' and I'm
sitting there wondrrig why sex is the issue and not the underage drinking, lol.
ANYWAY, that was grade 9. In grade 10 health class they say listen, we know you're gonna have sex so do us a favour and be safe about it.
here's how. done. nobody was corrupted, our morals remained the same.
abstinence sex ed only taught me one thing....I gotta have sex, and i gotta have a lot of it.
i dont understand why kids fucking each other is worse than kids getting aids or having more kids
it's not even about that....the abstinence people are usually the pre-marital sex people....
NO SEX is the best preentative measure against having kids and diseases, it's true... but wake the fuck up guys kids are kids and they don't
cause religious types do exactly as they're supposed to...
give a shit. I bet you assholes didn't either when you were their age. so givethem the tools to be safe but still inform them of the dangers
do they brainwash politicians in law school or something? it's like they completely forgot what it was like to be a child
when i was 13, my entire being was consumed by thoughts of getting laid
a couple of PSAs about abstinence weren't going to change my mind..
LOL. I can only imagine the mind of a teenage boy..
it's very focused, that's about all you can say about that,.
like a mother effin' 'laser beam.
when youre a child, it's all about getting candy, when you're a teen, it's all about getting sex
those were better, simpler times....
yeah.. agreeing with Sarah on all this. I learned what a condom DID when I was 10 years old, and i was like "what an interesting idea"
and then sex ed when i was 11-12 was like "oh ok, well that's nice but i don't plan on doing it any time soon, but good to know" kinda thing
they showed us how to use things in 6th grade, or at least made us aware. if people were fucking around at that time, i didn't hear of it
the more forbidden you make it sound.. the worse it will be. I think in high school the fact that everyone by then had heard of everything
and learned all the consequences, could go to the counselor's office to get birth control.. made it all very normal
so it wasn't a huge deal or forbidden, and as far as I know, no one got pregnant or got any crazy diseases.
kina i'm giving you a gold star for the forbidden thing
wtf you could go to your counseller to get birth control at your school?? O_o
that's awesome. not at my school haha
our 'counseller' was a chaplain. so none of that! XD
yeah you go to the health office.. at least that's what it was like at Canterbury. then again that was a really liberal school!
not sure if they had that at Sir Wil though
man, free jimmy hats would have saved me many awkward trips to the drugstore. and i could have gotten to know some of my school faculty a
LOT better!
i remember there used to be this website like "
freecondoms.com" or something. it was such a great, but totally abused site
