POLL: After all this time... Plurk Timeline: Love it or Hate it? Would you trade it for top down Twitter style if you could?

it. No trading for me, either!

☆ stacy 8/2013 says

no, please don't trade. I love going back to 8:am and looking for new responses and so easy to get into a conversation here
lbilak says
I HATE that I can't see who has been on-unless they plurked first- I have zero time to read all drop downs

Tough choice. I am used to the timeline now. Can't imagine how the drop down threads would work otherwise and lvoe the threads.

no trading love plurk... can not follow twitter
dmcordell says
I'm used it to now, wouldn't like a change.
dmcordell says
I'm fluent in both Plurk and Twitter.
principalspage says
no... Twitter is so early 2007... it is 2008!!!
the TIRED guy says
So long as I keep my tabs and threads, I wouldn't mind a 90 degree change in direction.
bknittle says
I like the tabs and threads - direction does not bother me. I spend more time here less on twitter.
n2teaching says
even if I wanted to, which I don't. I don't have to; Plurk Mobile is a top down twitter clone of my PLN's plurks. B-)
Elaine Plybon says
I would do Twitter only bc that's where all my friends are and I can't use plurk on my phone

Never got into Twitter. Love Plurk.
EdVentures says
nope. Went back to Twitter and realized how disconnected it really was, even with TweetDeck
rorowe thinks
sidescrolling makes sense for Plurk, and verticle scrolling works well for Twitter. I still use both, and wouldn't change anything.
mindelei says
I love that the conversations are threaded. If I had a twitter-like timeline that still allowed me to unfurl them into threads, that
mindelei says

would be great!
karlyb says

I've gotten used to it, but I hated it at first.
LoriB says

I LOVE the plurk timeline. I think it's much easier to have and follow a conversation this way instead w/top down like Twitter.
joelzehring

I bounce back and forth between my iGoogle home page with plurk mobile and full timeline.

no, twitter format seems boring and unorganized now
mmossman says
it's ok, but I think it could be improved. I'd like to have an easier way to jump to different days.
TekZeno says

I love plurk. I find myself using plurk a lot more than twitter.
blakej says

no, I like timeline much better. I have not Tweeted in three days. Plurk is for me...

Plurkbuddy, are you listening?
vdub144 says
Gave up on T for the most part, and try to avoid these kinds of discussions generally, but P is considerably superior. T is a lot of "noise"
mswine says
Love it now - but it took a little time to get used to
vdub144 says
sort of like reading random phrases out of self help books. Its only useful with tons of 3rd party add-ons. But last night's debates were
mmossman says
I disagree, T still gives me lots of quick ideas and links.
vdub144 says
frustrating. People kept writing new plurks instead of using threads. (Like Twitter) Had to get away. Frustrating behavior over here.

teach42

Interesting the direction that this conversation went. Wasn't meant to be a Plurk vs. Twitter discussion. Rather whether after some time
teach42
if people wound up liking the timeline better. Clearly Plurk is superior, but I don't find myself going forward-back in the timeline much
teach42
I'd prefer a top down list of conversations, provided they still pop open in threaded conversations like these do. But that's just my 2cents
mindelei says
You and I are on the same page with that teach42.
misterlamb says
i like plurk mobile...mixture of what i started out with in twitter and what i am learning in plurk
vdub144 says
Plurk keeps collapsing the time line for you, so a responded plurk from a month ago stays just to the right of all other new plurks when you
vdub144 says
have "new responses" checked. Its even easier if you use both the new responses and responded tabs at the same time. That way after you read
vdub144 says
the newest stuff, turn both on and only keep up with plurks you've already been involved in, turn off responded, mark all read, then its
vdub144 says
easy during the day to keep up on the new ones and responses coming in.
mmossman says
I would like the oldest responded plurks first when that tab is clicked so you can move from oldest to newest.
vdub144 says
mmossman: they did that for a while - didn't work well. then changed back.
vdub144 says
Post these suggestions to getsatisfaction.com/plur... - Amix is really good at responding and has already implemented couple of mine.
gharmon says
still learning, but like it so far.
mmossman says
vdub144 I really liked it when they did that. I found it much easier to get through the responses. Sad when they changed it.
vdub144 says
You should be able to scroll right through the yellow plurks to that point pretty quickly. Also, I usually try to Plurk somthing right
vdub144 says
before I go offline, which gives me a point of reference as to where I last read through everything...

vdub144 says
eplybon: That doesn't make any sense? You have more than 50 fans? Are you choosing not to friend them?
mindelei says
eplybon I LOVE your background: that is awesome!
