do things count as published if you post them to tiny, locked communities?

It's not something that I think has really been tested, yaknow? I have older stuff (that I'm less proud of)

Basically once you're like actually published posting sample chaps gets into just basic self promotion

you stick it on your site and everyone claps b/c it's like a 'preview chapter' or a 'first book tease' or w/e

Although, tbh I've read some pretty damn shitty first chapter teases on various sites before. How do people get published?!

I mean I can at least sorta understand that even if I don't like it. The writing is pretty derivative and all ...

but it fulfills a really specific (and very prevalent) desire for feeling so incredibly special despite your ordinariness.

It also fills what I like to call the 'princess syndrome' which is where your character basically gets her issues solved for her

it's a major 'turn on' (not nec. sexually) for women who love the idea of someone coming in and fixing their empty/boring life

god that's so scary

I find it's especially popular with the single (who dislike their singleness) or the married who dislike their marriedness
