vc's don't borrow for their investments (with luck)...in a "retreat to quality", Good VC's should have an easier time. Upstarts worse.

don't borrow, but funds will have to be made available from somewhere. Unless conditions clear up, the "retreat to quality" is on hiatus..

my understanding is that folks who have money to invest need to put it somewhere... High Tech or other VC-stuff _could_ be where it goes

Of course, fewer folks will have money to invest, so on that front, VC's will have fewer dollars to manage - not rosy, but could be worse!
