Start with WIIFM (What's In It For Me) from their point of view... how tech can make parenting easier/more convenient

by showing them it's not about the technology, but about making what they are already doing more efficient

My suggestion? COMMUNICATE with them as to what you're doing technology wise. My son is in 4th grade and he comes home from school

asking to get on this website or that website and I'm all... "WTF. How do you even KNOW about these sites? Why do you think you can go to

them?" and he's all "School told us about em!" and I'm all "WTF? They need to let my ass know what's going on, yo!" then he rolls his eyes

and goes to read in his room....

**shifty eyes** Sorry... overshare. The point I'm trying to make is information to the parents is a GOOD thing. I'd be much more willing

to let him go to those sites if I knew, for a fact, that the school was using them. Just a simple list of "We use these sites to enhance

your child's learning experience" Yanno?
