I am no expert but we had a student having audio problems last week and the fix was to make sure you choose "Record a movie clip"

The icon on the right and then go to file and record movie. He may have had to make sure his sound was turned on, but I am not sure

for some reason, choosing it from the file menu was better than just clicking the movie camera in the center
