a 12 y.o. with strep. Not a big deal except he's also hypoglycemic. He refuses to eat because his throat hurt so his blood sugar is low and
it won't come up unless he eats. Of course, he doesn't want to eat when his blood sugar is low anyway -add to that the strep and you might
as well shoot me now! 
It just took me 30 minutes to get him to gargle the lydoceine so his throat would feel better enough to eat and

he's still whining that it hurts but at least he's eating. We will try the lydoceine again in an hour when his blood sugar comes up.

I had terrible throat pain when I had strep. even with lydoceine, my throat hurt too much to eat
