also amused at my son's response to this project. He is excited about doing it, embarrassed about carrying it around,and having to act like

he could care less. He is a middle schooler after all!

what class was that? He's having to do this project as part of his science class. The last trimester has been all about the body so they

just learned about the reproduction system. Now they have to be parents for the week. I was at the handout and the stuff we have to

do - diaper it, give it a basket WITH a restraint system, he has to journal how it felt to be a parent and about rocking it and feeding it

he also has to pay me .20 an hour to babysit.

he went upstairs to play on the computer and I asked him if I was babysitting or if he was taking her with him - I got the "big sigh" as he

took her upstairs and promptly told all of his friends online about his egg watching him play.

the teacher made all of the boys have girl babies and all of the girls have boy babies. If something happens to it he has to write it's

obituary and do a one page paper on the loss of a child.

ours was for a class called "life skills" which would have been known as Home-Economics back when I was in school... but for science

class? ... that is a GREAT idea!

ALL kids should have to do this project! He said that only his class was doing it and that she didn't have any other 7th grade science

classes. I'm glad he has to do it - even with all of his complaining! And I just realized I wrote "reproduction system" instead of

"reproductive system" I'm getting old.
