starts marching blindly towards the woods. "Where the birds live of course. Have you never birdwatched?"

they should have maybe brought some sort of weapon, but nods, "That makes sense, 'nd nope."

her throwing daggers if needed. "You can use my binoculars then since it's your first time!"

nods again, "But I don't know what to look for... d'you just look for birds...?" He thought there was probably more to it.

nods. "Interesting ones mostly, like hawks and stuff. They're so pretty!"

tilts his head, shrugging, "Okay..."

takes his hand pulls him into a bush. "This is a perfect spot since we can see below and above. Plus camouflage!"

quietly asks, "B-below? What would be below us...?" He squished a little closer to her because he could get away with it.

laughs. "Like on the ground. Technically it's below us right?" doesn't mind him moving closer. "But now we gotta be quiet k?"

frowns, looking up at the canopy of the leaves and seeing nothing moving, glances down to make sure nothing's under him and sits.

moves onto her stomach and gasps quietly. "A robin! How cute!" >w<

looks where she's looking, doesn't say anything, but it is cute.

smiles at him. "Look! When he tilts his head he's listening for worms and then he gets them!"

nods, smiling, focusing on that bird with his eyes, but her voice with his ears.

hums, watching it until the bird flies off with lunch. "I like this because it's peaceful."

hums in approval, drinking in the quietude, catching sight of a woodpecker and tapping her shoulder to show her.

looks over and ooo's quietly. "You can talk you know, you just have to whisper."

grins, "But... it's fine to just listen, sometimes..." He won't admit quite yet that he just wants to hear her talk.

smiles. "Then it's my turn to listen then. You're having fun, right?"

blushes, "Mmhm, it's... really fun." He scoots a wee little bit closer.

doesn't even notice, resting her head on her hands.

aloud, "I'm... really glad you didn't leave town..." adds, "Why didn't you, by the way...?" Voice barely a whisper.

smiles sheepishly. "I got lost. A guy with a map god brought me back. I damaged my crossbow so it has to be repaired before I leave."

moves to his stomach, too, attention to the bird questionable, "A map god, huh..." he remembers the guy he's rooming with has a map, smiles.

nods. "I think I crushed his hand. We were find until the moster got two close and I lost my composure.."

wiggles his shoulder against hers, "So if I monster came out now... would you lose your composure again?" He's curious about it all.

blushes. "M-maybe.. I hope one doesn't.." is not going to mention the crying and screaming though >.>;;

smiles, "I hope so, too," he almost lets his head go down to rest on crossed arms, so he can look at her, but knows that would raise suspici

hums, "I... I don't know those bird names, really..." but the one she said sounds pretty, he hands back the binoculars he isn't using.

looks through them backwards and pouts. "I can't see!"

turns them around for her with a little smile, knowing she'll never notice him staring if she's concentrating on the binoculars.

mumbles a thank you and starts looking for neat birds, humming quietly.

sighs to himself, taking in the solitude again and thinking he might be able to sleep. He hadn't slept, really, since she'd seen him last.

very tired.

looks over at him. "You're not having fun?"

shakes his head, "No, no, it's a lot of fun." More than she probably realizes, he adds in his head.

grins. "Good, you can have the binoculars back then."

frowns, "I can see just fine without them," Rather, you're so much prettier than any birds. He didn't say that, though.

nods and continues looking. "Oh, it's a hawk!"

glances that way, making sure it wasn't going to come eat them or something, but whispers, "...um, Alise." She's driving him crazy, inside.

puts the binoculars done and looks over at him. "Yes?"

had hoped she wouldn't look at him, "...Ilikeyou." He said, too fast, too quiet. He cursed inwardly, he'd have to say it again, probably...

smiles. "I like you too! Most of my other friends don't like bird watching."

knew it, kneww he had failed at making himself clear. But there was nothing for it, he didn't like her enough to call it /love/ or anything.

tilts her head. "Is something wrong?"

shakes his head, blushing terribly, trying to rectify it, "I-I like y' as a girl, n-not a friend." adds, "Th-though you are a friend."

stares at him in confusion. "I don't really get what you're saying.."

hides his face in his arms.

taps his head. "Are you not feeling well?"

shakes his head, absolutely embarrassed, but he doesn't know how else to explain it without sounding even stupider.

even more confused, scooting closer. "Then what's wrong?"

already in such a pit of failure, he figures it can't get much worse if he messes it up more, leans over to kiss her cheek and hides again.

puts a hand to her cheek and blushes slightly. "Ummm... " is confused still, not sure if he means it in a romantic way or a familiar way.

from hiding, "I like you /a lot/, Alise... I know I don't know you, but..." but he feels like he does.

turns red and scoots away a bit. "I-I.. you what?"

just stays quiet, trying to pretend he didn't just make a fool of himself.

stares at him. "Y-You like me..?"

looks hopeless, "I do, a-a lot..." He stares back, can't look away, as much as he'd like to.

doesn't know what to do, turning really red. "I-I like you too... but how would this work?"

blushes reeeally hard, "W-wh... you do? Um, um..." he nearly passes out.

nods and looks away, all flustered.

rolls over on his back, staring at the canopy and smiling a little, relief washing over.

sits back up and pulls at the grass, feeling really awkward. "Ummm.."

sits up too, doesn't know how to make it any less awkward, "Um, let's...head back? Unless you want to stay."

shakes her head. "N-no, lets go back before any monsters come out.."

nods, standing and offering her a hand to help her up, checking for monsters.

takes his hand with a smile and gets up. "We should be okay, we're not in very deep."

holds her hand tight, still suddenly more alert for danger, because hell if he'll let any monster screw up his progress.

tugs him light. "You coming Torsten? It'll start getting dark soon."

nods, letting her lead the way back, "Yeah... did you find a place to sleep?"

isn't planning to do anything.

nods. "I found some really soft grass, it's so green!"

frowns, "I have a big room at the inn... that Freyr guy is sleeping on the floor."

adds, "And I'm not sleeping at all, really. You could use the bed, if you want."

gasps, pulling her hand away. "You fiend! What kind of loose woman do you think I am?"

gasps too, "G-god, nonono... I'm not sleeping because I'm insomniatic!!" He didn't realize how it sounded.

tilts her head. "You're what?"

explains, "I can't fall asleep lately. So I'm just sitting around all night..."

frowns. "Why not?"

frowns, "I'm sorry, that didn't sound good before. I meant nothing by it ;;"

he'll sound like a stalker, but, "I...um, thoughts of you kept me awake." Honestly!

blushes.

goes wide eyed. "W-What?"

looks sheepish, heads toward the edge of the forest.

stands there in shock, not really knowing what to do.

doesn't notice she isn't following for a minute, but then goes back for her, "Alise, we need to get back."

nods mutely, turning bright red and looking down, shuffling awkwardly.

sighs, just taking her hand and leading her out, stopping outside of the forest's edge.

holds onto his hand, trying to think of something to break the awkwardness. "W-What kind of thoughts..?"

looks at the lights in town, "M-mostly... just your face." Her lips.

looks up at him in confusion. "What's so great about my face?"

blushes and bites his lip, but finds words, "Like...your lips, when y'talk."

thinks, when I imagine you might kiss me. He's glad he didn't say it, but kicks himself for not being bold.

even more lost. "I don't get it.."

swallows that self-frustration and leans over to kiss her shyly on the lips, pulling away quickly.

blushes, bringing a hand up to touch her lips. "You like my lips because you want to kiss them?"

nods, their hands still touching and making him feel awkward again.

manages, "Y-yeah," her lips felt just the same as he'd thought they might.

looks up at him, trying to will the red away. "Again."

blinks at her, but leans down to comply, pressing his lips against hers and lingering there.

kisses back when she finally registers what's happening, keeping her eyes closed tight.

pretty sure he's finally sleeping and he's dreaming, kissing unsurely but very happily.

pulls back, feeling very hot and embarrassed. "I... your lips are nice too.."

can feel his pulse all over, it's racing, "U-um, thanks..." Very flustered.

looks down. "I l-like kissing you, it feels really nice.."

whispers, "Y-you don't have to sleep on my bed if..."

shuffles her foot. "W-well I do need a place to stay tonight.."

smiles softly, "D-don't worry, Freyr will be there." Which means he won't do anything weird.

nods with a small smile. "Okay, I'll accept your offer then. T-Thank you."

takes her back but actually falls asleep in the chair this time, insomnia gone~
