all of mine is informal/self directed as I am self-employed right now
unfortunately all of the "Required" prof development is structured. But I do plenty of learning on my own!
100% of mine is self-directed
About 20% required (not necessarily beneficial) @ school. 80% done on my own time, self-directed learning.
100 % is self-directed PD through my PLN. I'd miss the Boat if it wasn't for my network. I love you guys!
all of mine is informal/self directed since i am retired/self employed
the formal stuff I am always called in to assist with the teaching on so I get little from there
mine is about 60% self directed. I participate in a lot of district provided PD. The self directed portion is random, no real plan.
Mine is about 95% self directed - only other PD would be inservice days, and most of it does little for me.
100% informal/self-directed
Combo for me: some to help with instruction, more of it to expand my knowledge of 21st century tools & new directions in learning.
I don't expect to slow down when I retire from teaching next year. Hope to move into other aspects of education.
I'd say 95% right now is informal/self-directed
100% self directed. Our district doesn't provide anything for us techie folks, but we do provide PD for the teachers.
5% formal, 95% informal. I'm taking a class at the moment, but it allows for a lot of self-directed learning as well.
None required, only inservice days, 95% self-directed. The PLN is the way to go - Thanks everyone
99% Informal, unstructured.
1 day of in-school structure prof development - the rest up to me
10% grad school, 90% self-directed. If I didn't make my own choices, I would be doomed.
95% self directed. 5% district mandated and then I turnkey for staff.
I would say that it is about 85% informal and 15% structured.
33% structured; 67% of the time spent in professional development activities, I provide the structure.
90% self/10% mandates from the school.
unfortunately all of the "Required" prof development is structured and generally un-useful. But I do plenty of learning on my own!
I'd also say that 90% is on my own.
