mechanic said the only way to really fix this is to replace the car. *sigh*

I'm sorry to hear this.

had my EGR and spider injector replaced in my old blazer but it is very pricey

had to look up EGR but yeah, that sounds like what it was doing. :\

the EGR vavle itself was replaced not that long ago - by this same mechanic. really hope this doesn't repeat itself soon :/

yeah, I know we'd taken it in for that behavior before.
