I feel way more comfortable having someone smarter than me in the whitehouse.
I don't like to put down the "Average Joe", but I would feel so much better if American's Average Joe was better educated,
more aware of international issues, and was a little more well-versed about other cultures.
I don't think the "Average Joe" would be so bad if the educational system didn't fail us and if we were a little more aware of the world in
general "as a people."

I agree, education is vital, but by embracing her comment as "acceptable" they have lowered themselves to an unacceptable level.
I agree with that, as a non-american I feel that most americans are not aware of the world around them, they're mostly in their own "world"
I am surrounded by people who grew up in other countries. Where I grew up and spent my first 40 in rural America, it was hard to get out

Some Americans don't know where Alaska is because the way our maps are drawn showing it near Hawaii, and below California.
We would go down the Columbia river across the bar up the West coast to Alaska to do our fishing...loved to fish for salmon!
