I've never met a person who just wanted to be "average"
EXACTLY! "Average and Proud of it"
knowing that those "Average" people vote for C Students, and beauty Queens to run a country, says a lot.
exacly, I thought people would pick Yale, Harvard grads with honors instead
No lets vote for an old guy who can't use a computer, and a governor who was mayor of a town with the largets Meth lab/people ratio
I feel way more comfortable having someone smarter than me in the whitehouse.
I don't like to put down the "Average Joe", but I would feel so much better if American's Average Joe was better educated,
more aware of international issues, and was a little more well-versed about other cultures.
I don't think the "Average Joe" would be so bad if the educational system didn't fail us and if we were a little more aware of the world in
I agree, education is vital, but by embracing her comment as "acceptable" they have lowered themselves to an unacceptable level.
I agree with that, as a non-american I feel that most americans are not aware of the world around them, they're mostly in their own "world"
I am surrounded by people who grew up in other countries. Where I grew up and spent my first 40 in rural America, it was hard to get out
starwish you are right, American's could find Singapore on a map... and it has the word "poor" in it, so it must be very dirty.
correction * couldn't find
and know other cultures. Our educational system did help. We had a cultural student exchange program.
America is so huge and our media is not devoted to news, it is more in line with entertaiment
There are American's that still believe that Australia is an island of criminals.
There are American's that still believe that Australia is an island of criminals.
We were a criminal colony as well
LisaR the problem is too few media outlets, they are owned by too few companies. Obama wants to change that.

Aussies are knuckle-heads
gecko68, haha, its fine if they assume us as a developing country. We have too many foreigners here
I wonder if States can still suceed from the nation... the city of Key West did
Little known fact, in 1982 the City of Key West Florida succeded from the nation, declared war on the US, surrendered, then
and assuming that bali is actually a country and that indonesia is a state in it
All in one day. (They apposed a blockade setup by the government to find illegal cubans...it blocked the only highway to key west)
woah, I wasn't aware of that
Ha ha, that's funny. Like Bali is a real country... next thing you'll say Japan is an island. Ha Ha silly foriegn people.
It was called the Conch Republic
I had an american friend who thought that mongolia is in china
I am sure China would like that
I have a lot of friends in Mongolia...golly for a red-neck I sure get around
speaking of seceding, why don't they talk about Palin's connections to the Alaskan secessionist party?
Mongolia, where do you make up these names. Ha ha.
Mongolians sure as hell don't like to be associated with China
lol....I can't spell
Some Americans don't know where Alaska is because the way our maps are drawn showing it near Hawaii, and below California.
We would go down the Columbia river across the bar up the West coast to Alaska to do our fishing...loved to fish for salmon!
It is becoming a very small world. Most of our work regarding communication is over the net...dammit

I think after work I will go to the store and pick up a "Joe Sixpack" and a dozen Mongolias for my wife.
