my son went to a charter school. I have no issue with them. I do have a problem with vouchers however. It is a tacit support for relgion

But I also am cautious of the intentions of many school's charters. Some are so ideologically driven

But I don't want to pay for a religious school. I went to a Catholic school, but that was a choice my parents made.I did get free busing tho

There are all sorts of things that can be done to reform public school. Look at what Rhee is doing in Wash DC. Fascinating. Unions be damned

why? maybe they want the religioius education that can't be had in public. Or, alternatively perhaps they are safer in some big cities.

Please. If you knew the state of the schools in DC... My boss didn't have kids by the time I worked for him. But we had a conversation

www.plurk.com/user/Ribbo... Perhaps you should read what I said. Rhee has been there about one year. She fired 700 teachers 29 principals

I do not believe in supporting religious or for-profit schools with my tax dollars.

Charter schools, chartered for academic purposes are fine. My son's charter school was chartered under a "normal" university
