her whole life. And, honestly, it was looking like no one was ever going to come into her life who would stick around long enough to have
them with her. And so, she had finally decided - to be artificially inseminated. That was three months ago. And it was starting to show...
From the morning sickness to the weird cravings and the inability to wear pants that she used to wear, Madeleine was finally beginning to
realize that there was a small life growing inside of her. She just hoped no one else would notice until she worked up the courage to tell
them. At least she could count on people ignoring her like usual. Except maybe her best friend. Who was coming over for lunch today. And
despite what they say - morning sickness doesn't stick to the morning...
((*... done rambling, oh God, what?*))
((This is what happens when I put off RPing in a place for too long because I'm nervous!! I type too much! ;_; ))
(( *directs to her vacation plurk for iggy* Yours is short compared to that. ))
((Then why on earth did you stare? ;_; ))
(( because suddenly everybody was pregnant. ;A; ))
((*flails a little* I'm sorry...! I could be not pregnant if you want. ;__; ))
(( Naw, it'S fine! That's what the theme is for. ))
*Gilbert - unaware of the fact that his friend was currently preggers (like everyone else in the damn world, seriously was it /mating/
season?) - was whistling as he burst into Madeleine's door without so much as knocking - knocking was for strangers =w=*
Fortunately, Madeleine had gotten quite used to the way Gilbert did things by this point and barely even flinched as the door suddenly
opened. "I'm in the kitchen, Gilbert," she called out helpfully. "How many pancakes do you want?" Pancakes were something of a
tradition with the two of them and she wasn't about to let that change.
"As many as you can possibly fit on one plate!" Gilbert laughed, breezing into the kitchen and throwing himself into a chair.
Madeleine looked over and smiled at her best friend, having already piled quite a number of pancakes onto a plate. "Of course!" It wasn't
long before she had two plates full of pancakes. Setting one in front of Gilbert, she went to get the maple syrup. "How are you, Gilbert?"
"Alright - hey, have you noticed how like a shitload of people are getting pregnant lately? It's crazy." Eagerly await the syrup.
Suddenly, Madeleine started fidgeting slightly as she brought the syrup to the table. "Oh really? I hadn't noticed..." She sat down and
picked up her fork, trying not to look nervous!
"Yeah, I guess it's just that time of year, huh?" Shrugs and pours a shitload of maple syrup on his pancakes, oblivious because paancakes~
Smiling a little, the Canadian reached out to take the bottle from Gilbert when he was done with it. "Must be. Love is... in the air." She
let out a soft sigh. "Or something."
"Oh damn, now that song will be stuck in my head." Pouts but digs into his pancakes with gutso. "Hey, uh, don't mean to be insensitive..."
He gave Cana a speculative look, "But have you put on weight?"
Madeleine turned a bright shade of pink, pausing with the bottle upside-down over her pancakes. "U-uh. Maybe just a little, eh?"
"Hmm...you've gotten kinda chubby. In the stomach area. Too much pancakes, huh?"
One of the Canadian's cheeks puffed out and she looked away. "Maybe, eh." She wasn't sure she wanted to tell Gilbert she was pregnant,
especially after what he'd just said about everyone getting pregnant.
He continues to eat his pancakes until nothing is left. "I can live off these, honestly..."
Madeleine couldn't quite stomach more than a little bit of her own pancakes before she started to feel queasy. "A-ah. Yeah... um..." She
stood up suddenly. "I have to go to the bathroom! I'll be right back, eh...!" With that, she hurried off, trying to keep the pancakes down.
Gilbert blinked when his friend suddenly bolted off, and he rose from his seat , following her at a slower pace. He wrinkled his nose when
he heard heaving though. "Hey, Maddy? You alright?"
(( /stares at Prussia, horrified ))
Crap. He followed her. It was only about a minute before the flow stopped and she sat back from the toilet, wiping her mouth. "I-I'm fine."
She sighed. "You can have the rest of my pancakes, Gilbert..."
Gilbert frowned a little, and cautiously entered the bathroom. "Er, that's okay...stomach bug?"
Madeleine was clutching her stomach and startled slightly when he friend entered the bathroom. "Gilbert...! You can't just barge in without
asking!" Her voice was soft, but had that firm tone it took on when she was telling someone off.
Gilbert raised his hands. "Better to ask for forgiveness than permission," Grins but it quickly turns into a concerned look. "You sure
Sighing, she stood up and moved to the sink to start cleaning herself up. "I'll be fine." She smiled slightly. "I'll have to get used to it
"Used to it?" Gilbert still looked worried.
Now clean, the Canadian turned to face her friend, looking at the ground and seeming a little embarrassed. "You know how you said that...
everyone was getting pregnant lately...?" Sooo embarrassing...
"...yeah..." Gilbert was beginning to connect the dots. "Oh Gott...who knocked you up?!"
She held her hands up placatingly almost immediately. "No, no. No one, Gilbert. I decided this for myself..!" Somehow, she'd known he might
not react well to the news...
"So...you..impregnated yourself? Are you a hermaphrodite?" Gilbert looked so confused.
[[facing the fact that both his sis and friend are preg, it is indeed quite a shocking news =3=~]]
((EVERYONE IS GETTING PREGNANT. It's an epidemic)
Face. Meet Mr. Palm. Please, get familiar with each other. "No, Gilbert. It's called artificial insemination. I had a doctor make me
pregnant. Does that make sense?"
"You...the doctor knocked you up?" Please excuse Gilbert, he is just having a silent breakdown. Both his sister and best friend are
pregnant. How...is he going to cope?
(That's because you're secretly a man, Hungary)
(All the women in his life are going to have babies. He's terrified of the mood swings))
((HE ALREADY HAS TO DEAL WITH ONE ETERNALLY PMSING WOMAN)
Rubbing her forehead, Madeleine shook her head. "No, Gilbert." She sighed. "It's..." Drawing in a deep breath, she raised her eyes to look
((oh, i should change my layout a bit for the theme *will be fem!russ* :3))
at Gilbert, almost pleadingly. "I just want a baby, Gilbert..."
"Oh...why?" Gilbert just stares, still processing it.
Madeleine worried her lip between her teeth for a moment. "Because I want to be a mother. I can't explain why, I just do. And... well, no
one's seemed interested in being the father." Here she laughed awkwardly. "So I decided to do it by myself."
"Oh...I see..." Gilbert shifts awkwardly. "Then...congratulations?" Yes Gilbert is such a dork.
Relief flooded through the Canadian and she threw her arms around Gilbert's neck, hugging him tightly. "Thank you, Gilbert!!"
"You're...welcome?" Gilbert hugs back automatically. "Just, er, don't get all hormonal and hit me, please? That's all I ask."
Blinking, Madeleine let go of her friend and stepped back a little. "Why would I hit you?" She laughed quietly, covering her mouth, amused.
"Well, that's what pregnant women do. They get al hormonal and...throw stuff..." Feels stupid
With a wide smile, Madeleine hugged Gilbert again and then let go, heading back towards the kitchen to clean up. "That would be silly, eh.
Besides, if I hurt you, who would be the godfather of my baby?" ... She hoped that particular thought would go over well...
"G-Godfather?" Gilbert follows with a surprised look on his face. "You want me to be Godfather?"
"Who else would I want?" she responded with a small laugh. "You're my best friend, Gil. I trust you more than anyone."
A-Awww...excuse Gilbert for a moment while he blushes manrily. "O-Oh. Then. Sure. Sounds cool."
Well, that had gone better than Madeleine could have hoped for. Then again, she hadn't had high hopes for how it would go. With a bright
smile, she picked up the dishes from the table and took them to the sink. "Thank you, Gilbert. It means a lot to me."
"Nah, don't worry about it." He grins, "I mean, if there's no dad the kid needs to have an awesome guy to teach him man stuff."
Madeleine laughed. "I ... guess that's true." She looked over, smirking slightly. "I like how you're assuming it'll be a boy though."
Gilbert snorts. "It'd be cool if you had a son, is all. I don't know how to deal with little girls." 8|
Beginning to wash the dishes, Madeleine laughed softly. "I think you'd be fine if I had a girl. Either way, I know my child will love you.."
Gilbert flushes a little, "Heh? You think?"
"Of course!" Madeleine set the dishes aside to dry on a rack. "How could they not?" She turned and smiled.
"Well...that's true!" Preens for a moment. "Heh, this won't be bad...this'll be /awesome/~"
There. Gilbert had finally accepted it as a good thing! Madeleine let out a soft sound of relief. "Exactly! That's what I think anyway."
(( *laughs so hard* Sorry for hitting you. XD ))
(( I AM SO AMUSED. and I am not a man, Prussia you moron. ))
((yes you are! You're just tucking away you peen like Lady Gaga B| And you're somewhat forgiven Bruder- Scwester...whatever =3=))
"So, uh, will you be throwing up all through the pregnancy then?" Gilbert is not well versed in female biological functions.
(( Shut up or I'll really rape you with a strap-on. *leers at* ))
(( *supports* So, Nii-san, you will end up with two godchildren, hm? ))
((*Edges away from Hungary* Eh? Oh, right, yes, I guess I will))
(( and if anything happens with this thread as it does in the movies, you will end up marrying canada before the end of the pregnancy. XD ))
(( I second that statement. ))
((W-What? But Canada's my friend, why would I marry her? ;A; )
(( because that's how it works in the movies. ))
((*Will defy the movies!*)
(( good luck with that. ))
(( *prepares frying pan in case he does not agree* ))
((*blinks* W-wait, why are we talking about me marrying Prussia?? O_O))
Madeleine let out a soft laugh, tugging on a strand of her own hair thoughtfully. "I don't know, really. Some people
do, but some people don't get morning sickness at all. Maybe I'll get lucky."
[[NOOOOOOOO, cuddles Canada and support single mom statue!!!!]]
"I hope so," Gilbert doesn't want to deal with spontaneous vomiting after all.
"I hope so too!" Honestly, Madeleine didn't want to deal with spontaneous vomiting either. She fell silent for
a moment and then turned a little pink. "I hope I didn't ruin your lunch, eh..."
"Eh? Oh, no, no, you didn't!" Gilbert laughed it off. "I'm fine. Er, are you? Not feeling...sick again, are you?"
She shook her head and the pressed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, smiling. "I got it all out of me. For now, anyway."
"Oh, good," Gilbert rubbed the back of his neck. "So what d'ya wanna do then?"
Thinking about it, Madeleine wasn't sure. She hadn't been sure Gilbert would still want to be her friend after the news (really,
Gilbert was a bizarrely fickle creature) so she hadn't planned too far ahead. "We could... go to the park and feed ducks?"
she offered after a moment.
That was a good suggestion, Gilbert liked feeding the birds. "Sure! You know what's funny," Muses suddenly, "My sister is pregnant too..."
Madeleine stopped dead in her tracks, about to go get her shoes so they could go to the park. "R-really?"
She looked marginally devastated. "Oh, Gilbert, I'm so sorry! I mean, to have sprung this on you and...!"
And now she looked like she was on the verge of tears.
Gilbert looked alarmed at the tears, "What? Oh, no, don't worry about it!" He frantically tries to calm her down, patting her shoulder and
giving a small smile, "I think that helped me deal with this shock...I just reminded myself I need to kill Denny though."
So he wasn't upset with her... that was a good thing. Honestly, Madeleine lived in a constant fear that one day her best friend would just
up and forget about her like everyone else in the world. "You... you shouldn't be killing anyone, Gilbert," she finally said in a quiet tone
wiping at her eyes because they had watered against her will!
"I shouldn't, but I'm sure the crime of impregnating my sister is good enough justification..." Grumbles irritably.
She tried to put on her stern face, but it was just so cute seeing Gilbert being over-protective of his sister.
"If you're going to be an uncle and a godfather, don't you think it would be difficult to do that if you were in JAIL?"
Gilbert scowls, "I'll be all ninja like. No one will know it was me," he protested, looking childishly stubborn.
"Except for everyone you've told." She put her hands on her hips and gave him a "look". You know, that look that only women can give...
"Yeah, well..." Deflates a little. "Okay, it's stupid but, but, he impregnated my sister! I can at least /punch/ him for it or something..."
Letting out a small sigh, Madeleine smiled. "If it'll make you feel better, you can punch a pillow with a picture of him on it?"
"...that sounds good, or, hey, even a dartboard!" Grins at the thought.
She smiled! "Yes! I think Alfred's got a dartboard somewhere..."
"Fine, I'll hold back from committing murder for now," Sighs and smiles, "How about feeding them ducks then, huh?"
Relieved that she had seemingly managed to calm Gilbert down, Madeleine went to get her shoes. "Grab some bread from the cupboard."
"Righto~" He opens the cupboard and takes out the bread, moving over to Maddy. "Ready?"
"Yep!" She had gotten her shoes on, and looked excited to be getting out and doing something outside. She loved the outdoors. "Let's go!"
Reaching out, she grabbed Gilbert's hand and tugged him out the door.
Gilbert just laughed at Maddy's enthusiasm. "An eager beaver today, aren't you? And I can't believe I just said 'eager beaver'..."
Grinning, she nodded vehemently. "I can't help it, Gilbert! I'm so excited! And happy that you're with me."
She pulled him on towards the park, and honestly didn't mind being called a beaver - she loved beavers.
Gilbert just grinned in amusement, letting himself get dragged to the park. "Excited huh?"
"Yes!" She looked at him, practically glowing. "I've always wanted to be a mother. And... and... I can feel it inside me..."
"That sounds kinda weird to me," Gilbert admits, "you...feel it inside you?"
She nodded again, smiling and putting a hand on her stomach. "It is kinda weird. But... but it's nice too." She couldn't explain it properly
"It's not gonna be nice when it comes out," Gilbert looked a bit queasy at the thought. Childbirth = most horrifying thing ever.
"I know." She laughed slightly. "But I think I'll be okay." Gently, she punched Gilbert's shoulder. "I'm a pretty strong girl, eh?"
Gilbert winced at the punch and rubbed his shoulder with a grin. "Yes, you're pretty strong."
Still laughing, Madeleine rubbed where she had punched as well. "See? I can handle it. I'm not scared at all." She paused, faltering
slightly. "Well... a little..."
Gilbert shrugs, wrapping an arm around Maddy's shoulders and squeezing. "No need to be scared, I mean, what, you'd be drugged to your
eyeballs all through it - it'll be like passing a cloud - or so I hear.." Blatant lies.
A frown creased the girl's forehead and she shoved her friend a little bit. "I'm not scared about that, Gilbert! I can handle pain."
She bit her lip, looking down. "I'm scared ... I might fail?"
"At being a parent!" She looked a little freaked by this prospect. "What if I scar my own child??" She gasped. "What bout my parents?? They
"Hey, hey, calm down! You're not scarring anyone. I think you'd be an awesome parent, plus you'll have my help, so you know. As for your
parents...uh, we'll need to lock them away until the child is grown up .___."
((LOL! XD Best ever. ILU, Prussia. XD))
After pausing for a moment to take a deep breath, Madeleine couldn't help but laugh at Gilbert's last words - louder than she
would normally laugh too. She covered her mouth with her hand and smiled behind it. "I think that's a good plan..."
He grins, "Then it's settled. We'll lock away your crazy ass parents and things will be smooth sailing."
Unable to help herself, Maddy hugged her best friend. "Thank you, Gilbert. I feel better now."
He hugs back, and pats your lower back. "That's what I'm here for: Planning the kidnapping of your embarrassing family members."
Laughing quietly again, Maddy felt perfectly blissful as they stepped into the park area. "We should get rid of Al too. Just in case..."
"Alfred will be harder to deal with :\" The blond, after all, outweighed Gilbert and was stronger too.
"Not really." She smiled and moved to sit on a park bench. "Just leave a trail of burgers leading to the edge of a cliff..."
"...heheh, you're so devious, Maddy~" Gilbert croons, playfully nudging Maddy with his elbow as he sat down beside her.
Looking pleased, she smiled over at him and reached to grab some of the bread from him. "I learned from the best, eh?"
Hands over the bread to Maddy and reclines in his seat with a grin. "That you did, my brilliant mind rubbed off on you."
Maddy began to break off the bread in little chunks and toss it on the ground in front of them. "Exactly." She glanced over.
"And I like to think some of my subtleness is STARTING to rub off on you... A little... maybe..."
"When am I subtle?" Gilbert laughs, tearing off some chunks of bread himself and tossing it onto the path, watching the birds flutter down.
"I guess it isn't working so much then... I need to subject you to more Canadian television, eh?" She smiled and watched the birds.
"/More/ Canadian telly?" Gilbert mock-groaned.
"Yes more!" She swatted his shoulder with a frown that she couldn't really keep in place. "It's good for you!"
"So are green veggies but itdoesn't mean it's enjoyable..." Teases playfully.
Maddy gasped in mock-horror. "Veggies aren't good for you! That's a lie." She nodded knowingly. "But Canadian TV... that's good for you."
Without hesitation, Maddy spoke up. "It broadens your mind. Makes you more aware of the world around you."
(( /so so so so amused ))
"I don't think I need to be anymore aware of the world around me," Gilbert said in amusement, "I know all I need to about certain countries"
Maddy lifted her shoulders in a shrug. "I guess it'll be your loss then. You don't get to learn more about me." She smiled at him.
"...this is true, I suppose..."
