the fridge and looks for some juice.
frowns when she realizes she finished the last of the pomegranate juice the night before, and she's completely out of orange juice.
finds an apple instead and attempts to munch on that. She walks outdoors to her front porch, and sinks into her porch chair, munching on_
apple and feeling more distressed about her weakened state.
watching a cat he just chased up a nearby tree. Glances over as the door open and a girl comes out, but she smells human so he isn't_
threatened by her and turns his attention back to the cat.
more wary of anyone else exhibiting strange behavior, now that she knows vampires are real. She keeps a watchful eye around her as she eats_
the apple, the sugar from it already helping perk her up.
up on the cat and meanders purposelessly down the steer. He left his hat and coat at home today, so his ears and tail are showing.
catches sight of the tall man ... then sees the ears and tail ...
rubs her eyes, thinking the blood loss is making her see things. Looks again and realizes he really does have ears and a tail! "Hey you!"
's ear twitches and he looks over at her. "Da?" askes, cocking his head.
leans forward in her chair, trying to get a good look at him. "Come here please?"
regards her for a second or two before slowly moving up to the edge of the porch. She doesn't smell entirely dangerous, but the hint of_
vampire on her makes him a bit wary.
slowly rises to her feet and makes her way over to the tall man standing on the edge of her porch. Reaches up and touches one of his ears,_
lightly rubbing the fur between her fingers. "Are you a furry, or are these real?"
flinches away slightly, but relaxes as she rubs his ears, tail wagging a bit. "Why wouldn't they be real?" asks innocently.
((also, I eternally love you for that furry line <3 ))
"Of course, why wouldn't they be real? First I find out vampires are real, then I find out men with dog ears are real." She notices the_
pouts a bit. "I'm not a man, I'm a demon! We're much nice than vampires, or at least I am. others can be not nice, but humans can be not_
lets her hand drop and wearily goes back to her chair. "You're a demon? Pardon me, but I'm not feeling well today, please have a seat_
if you want." She gestured to the other chair on her porch.
smelled enough to know that the vampire he smelled on he probably isn't around. Steps up on the porch and sits in the chair like a dog, tail
watches the tail wag for a few moments, then looks at the demon. "Do you have a name? And how did you become a demon? Did someone_
make you that way, like a vampire is made?"
blinks at all the question. "I'm Ivan," cheerfully. "And I've always been this way. Vampires are made. I just... am. Like you are! Oh,_
what's your name? And did you know you smell like vampire? You should be careful, they aren't nice." frowns a bit.
's eyes widen at the mention of vampires. "You can smell that on me?" She lifts up her arm and sniffs it, looking at him. "My name is _
nods seriously. "Yes, I can smell that. You should be careful. Vampires are bad children who attack people without reason. They'll kill you"
shakes her head, "Not this vampire, he's nice. I ... I let him bite me."
's eyes widen and he shakes his head. "Natalia seems like a nice child, so I'll tell her this. All vampires are bad children who pretend_
to be nice. He just wants to use you or make him like you. Natalia is a nice girl, she shouldn't be a bad child like vampires."
tilts her head as he talks, listening to him. "What do you think of vampire hunters? Are they good or bad?"
on that for a second, nose twitching as he thinks back. "Hunters... are sometimes good children. They're very nice to punish the bad_
children and protect the good ones, but they can be bad children themselves. You should just be careful, no matter what!" Nodnods.
bites her lip as she thinks about this. "And demons, I suppose there are good and bad demons too?" She tilted her head at him, "Should I_
laughs, a sort of amused barking sound. "I suppose that would be smart. And the same goes for humans, they're hard to trust too! Luckily, I_
don't have to worry about them much, but you should be careful of everyone."
"That's actually good advice, you never know who you can trust. The difference is not every human wants to kill you because they're_
shrugs. "But humans will kill you for stupider reasons. And demons generally don't eat people. Or at least I don't" Gives a pleasant smile.
"in other words, no one is safe here at all. What a depressing place to live."
| "Not really. No one is safe anywhere. I've traveled all over and met good children and bad children everywhere I've gone. There are good_
children here too. Natalia is one of them. She just has to find others."
"And you don't think I should trust Alfred, even if he seems like a good vampire? He says he hates being what he is, and wishes he wasn't_
a vampire. He was made into one against his will."
frowns. "Words can be said easily and vampires are cunning, good at saying the right words."
looks down at the puncture mark on her thumb. "I let him drink my blood, will he come back for more?"
nods grimly. "They'll come back for anyone they think is an easy target. You should get away, far away as you can!"
"Go away? I just moved here. This house was so affordable. I guess I know why now."
looks at her sadly. "Either move or find someone to help protect you. If you tell a hunter that you are being followed, they will get rid_
of the vampire for you. Just be careful which one you tell! Some will hurt you just as much as a vampire."
puts a finger to her lips, thinking hard. "The only hunter I know is Ludwig, but I haven't seen him today. I need to return his_
handkerchief though, so I could ask him about it when I return it."
shrugs. "I just wandered here recently, not long before you. I know hardly any one."
"Are you in danger from the vampires here?"
's tail and ears droop a bit. "Somewhat. Some don't like my blood, but others will attack me. I am not in nearly as much danger as you."
"Oh, where do you live? If I may ask?"
wags his tail a bit. He really likes his new home! "I found a nice place by the river~ Humans wouldn't like it, but for me it's perfect!"
"That's good, and it's safe there for you?" Feels sad for him, that he doesn't trust humans either.
nods. "I'm different for humans. It wouldn't be safe for humans, but I can hear and smell really good. I know when danger is near and I can_
looks around her front porch. "My house isn't safe at all, is it?"
looks around, smelling the air. "Not particularly, although not any more unsafe than anywhere else here. Although vampire is stronger than_
normal, but that's because of the one that bit you."
looks at her thumb, "Will other vampires be able to tell a vampire's already had a taste of me?"
nods. "They'll be able to smell the vampire on you. That actually might scare more timid ones away. Some won't care though and come after_
"I never thought I would meet a nice demon, I've always been taught demons are evil." looks at him.
wags his tail. "Demons are like humans. We can be good children too. We didn't all come from hell. Humans just say that because we're_
stronger than them and it frightens them."
"Would you like something to drink?" Feels embarrassed she didn't offer him something sooner.
's nose twitches. "No thank you. Most human food doesn't always agree with me. It's kind of you to offer though."
"Alright, it's just polite to offer something to visitors." She looked at his twitching nose. "Are you alright?"
nods. "I'm fine~ One of your neighbors must be cooking something yummy, something smells nice~"
"Oh?" sniffs the air, can only smell the lavender growing in the herb garden. "You have a better nose than I."
laughs his barking laugh again. "It's because I'm part wolf!"
laughs a little when she hears the bark. "That's cute!"
blushes a bit. Most humans think he's scary, not cute. "Thank you~ Natalia is a very cute girl too, and a good child. I hope she stays safe_
, da." Ears perk up and he gives her a small smile.
watches his ears. "Did you hear something?"
blinks at her, confused. "No... why do you ask?"
"Oh, I noticed your ears. When a dog does that, it means they heard something interesting."
nods, understanding. "Dogs also perk up their ears when they're happy! Wolves are the same way." ^__^
"Oh, that's good that you're happy." She gives him a warm smile. "I liked your ears, they felt soft."
smiles back. "You can pet them again if you like~ I like it, it feels nice~"
"Dziakuj," She murmurs quietly, then reaches over and strokes the warm, soft fur with her fingers. "Very soft."
nuzzles his head against her palm, making a happy noise.
pets him some more, which made her feel better. "very soft, and you're very sweet. You may come and visit me any time, okay?"
nods. "Of course! And you should see a hunter very soon, before you get hurt bad. Vampires are dangerous, bad children. Don't trust them!"
"Because you say so, I will. I've already met one and I think he will help me. I have his handkerchief to return anyway."
smiles happily, tail wagging. "Good! Trust your instincts. Humans need to do that more. I should go now, before a vampire comes. He won't _
like me being here." Climbs off his chair and stretches like a dog before standing.
watches him, amused at his dog like movements. "Vampire, here?" She looks around, worried now.
shakes his head. "Not now. But the one that bit you, he'll probably come back, da?"
rubs her thumb with her fingers. "He might, but he insists he won't hurt me."
's ears and tail droop. "Just because he says that doesn't make it true. Be careful of him and visit your hunter soon. Good luck, Natalia~"_
turns and begins to walk away.
"Goodbye Ivan, it was nice meeting you." She sits back down on her chair, watching him walk away. "A nice demon."
