I got a proxy server setup (antinat) and got it working with foxyproxy, but only with anonymous authentication, so I'll try some more later.

if you have a proxy server running locally (on computer or network), why do you need a firefox plugin?

foxyproxy just makes it easy for switching between proxy's or using proxies just for certain urls.

oh. i see. that could come in handy...
