Check your alerts. It's in the upper left corner. If there is a number beside it, that means someone wants to be your friend. or

if you already request a friend it might mean they accepted.

There should be a number there right now b/c I asked to be your friend.

Click on the word Alerts and you can accept or reject.

Then you can look at my list of friends click on their profiles and ask to be their friends.

Also, be sure to update your profile and add that you're a teacher. Some people won't friend you if they don't know that you're a teacher.

Try to add a pic ASAP.

you can also right click on someone's name and open their page in a new window. you'll see a box in the bottom that says "Add as Friend"
