Non-classroom elem teachers: do you set up rules with your classes? I've known most of my kids for 6 yrs, but maybe it would help

I've struggled with management for years with various kids and would like to start the year off right. Thoughts?
Not a teacher, but as a student? Firm, reasonable rules definitely help things go smoother.
Yes. I definitely do. I reaffirm any classroom rules and the behavior expectations are clear in my studio. (posted on the wall)
Does your school have a basic set? Mine has "Be safe, be respectful, be responsible."
Then each teacher builds on those three main ideas.
No they don't. We all do our own thing. There's no consistency, which is a challenge
