Could be the little brain thingie on the back of the board. power it off and back on. It should be under warranty still

by "jumpy" do you mean that it will hesitate when writing, then "jump" to where you are, making a straight line along the way?

Mine is Too! Some of it is called "jumping" and some of it is called " spiking". Have someone looking into it. Check the forum
