Does it bother anybody else that in order to nominate blogs for the EduBlogger Awards this year, you MUST have your own blog?

Sort of like the Academy Awards are voted on by the movie makers, not the movie watchers.

Maybe we shouldn't vote, then.

I don't like the fact they you must nominate via a blog post - no one tells me what to blog about. Suggest, maybe, but not require.

Just realized that blogging the nominations also makes the process very public. Might cause hard feelings among friends?

I think I am going to bow out of this one. Won't nominate anyone. You are right, Diane...too public.

I nominated 2 people last year & also voted. Not this year. Sorry.

Hmmm. Not sure I feel as strongly. If you really respect/admire a blog, why would you mind nominating it publicly?

Not that he's a major blogger by any means, but you can nominate my 8 if you like:

It's the principle of it. What if I want to keep my nominations private so I don't influence the voting of others?

Or I don't have a blog?

I can see that point, especially for those who are seen as EdTech leaders.

However, it also gives those leaders a chance to encourage those just starting out or who wouldn't be noticed otherwise.
