When someone doesn't confess, the court system gets very confused...it's antiquated.

it's not because it's Akihabara that he confessed. the police have a 90% confession rate period. that's just the culture here.

it's not uncommon for people to recant during their trial though. people who confess get 'lighter' sentences.

those that dont face a hard time in court, even if there is little evidence to support innocense.
