Don't you find that OFSTED is somewhat over the top?

pamelarvo: I think it's office for standards in education - basically its the government inspectors & they judge how well the sch is doing

if they judge itas failing they can put it into special measures and eventually close it down if there are no improvements

My school is not that bad, but we have weaknessess in several areas. The new head is gradually sorting things though, so it should be okay

thanx jaxblk -we sort of have the same scrutiny bodies in australia although I'm sure no schools have ever been closed for that reason.
