smite. Is it good to put all my DOTs up front like that, or should I use a different order?
I don't know priest, since I dont play it.. but I do know Warlock, and DOT's always go first, then you kick ass while they work.
Mine are in a certain order, depending on what each DOT might do, how long they run, and if they might proc something based on a talent pt
I saw a warlock the other day (I had clicked her to inspect her gear, I am like that) and since she was clicked, her spells showed on my
screen while she fought some mobs, and she started with Shadow bold and ended with a couple DOTs that give damage over 30 secs and I cringed
In a 15 second fight, how could her DOTs help it they arent set up first?
yea DoT's first on a lock I would assume the same on your priest. I ordered mine around treat level so I didn't pull aggro from my pet. lol
And if yours is like mine, I have immolation,
which when it runs, has a chance to set off a proc of instant Shadowbolt... so it is second in my rotation, after the instant that
gets the mob's attention and starts the damage.
Corruption does that from a glyph for me. If I start with Immolation I Pull aggro and my poor pet can't get it back.lol
My rotation is Corruption, BoD, CotE, Immolate and Soul Fire or Drain Soul Depending on my Mana since drain soul pretty much returns me full
TeenaBasevi: I have been nasty lately, I will ride in a circle, gather about 6 mobs, jump of and hit one with a DOT to bring my Felguard on
him, then hit Felstorm, he spins, sucks all the mobs in, I hit Rain of Fire and BAM. I stand off to the side as 6 mobs die without
hitting me at all. I am almost ashamed.
and these are mobs the same level as I am.
This is me <-- realizing that my warlock is stronger than my DK ever was. Surprise!
ohh yes much much stronger. I haven't gotten down the art of not letting them touch me yet. I attempted that yesterday and I pulled aggro
I can do about 4 mobs with felstorm any more then that if I even touch them they run to me
Ahhh corruption. Yeah, my brain is slow this am, need more coffee. Me too.
I go bane of Agony, corruption, immolation.
I pull them, then get felguard close and hit felstorm, then I take like 3 steps back and drop the R of Fire, almost always works perfectly
sometimes the odd stubborn one will stay on me, but doesnt usually do to much damage until Fel is free, or I just hit it with soulburn/fire
I dont find that rain of fire or my DoTs ever pull aggro if the felguard already has them
now and then I will also grab 2 or 3, and then turn and bane 3 or 4 more to pull them over
and I watch the casters, if you see them casting, hit the other felguard thing, the axe throw, to stop the cast
sometimes I get it on time, sometimes not lol
I am just surprised at the amount of damage my rain of fire does now. Between that as a cc and Hand of Gul"dan and soulfire,
I rarely use Shadowbolt now. It just takes so damned long.
We'll see how it is with the last couple talents added
I use shadowbold only when shadow trance is procc'd
makes it instant and doesnt use mana
yeah. when it procc's and I dont have a close mob, it just kills me to let it waste
Have you ever tried Destro? I dual specc'd to it and it is very very cool. Kick ass.
priests should be pulling mobs from a distance so use your longest casting spell first then your instant cast dots
If you're in the middle of a bunch of mobs and getting pelted or you accidentally got too close then dot first
it's been a while since I played so I don't rember it, but it's one of holy's main dps spells. it's a long cast and then ticks for dmg
but that's what I liked to open up with
do you mean longest casting time or longest range?
I usually used the longest casting time, you can safely cast at the mob before it knows what's going on then dot them while they're running
toward you. If all goes well they're dead before they get to you.
